Publisher's Summary

A modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice set in Pakistan. It is a truth universally acknowledged that a girl can go from pauper to princess or princess to pauper in the mere seconds it takes for her to accept a proposal. But Alys Binat is resolute she will not marry. This warm and witty tug-of-love between mothers, daughters and rich, eligible bachelors is a fresh take on Jane Austen’s original.

A light joyful read that will make you fall in love with Austin and Kamal both

The story is based on pride and prejudice, the world famous novel by Jane Austin. We all love Jane for her strong and appealing female protagonists. The book is simply a Pakistani adaptation of pride and prejudice and so it is capable enough to hold you till the end.

I will be honest, I haven’t read any books by Austin yet but this book has made it impossible to resist any further now.

Soniah Kamal has done justice to the characters and has not tried to add her very own spices. This very fact made it more wonderful as a book.

The characters, the ups and downs of the book will make you remember the movie pride and prejudice as well.

It was over all a nice attempt.
