A beautiful retelling of the story of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz by award-winning author Francine Rivers. Readers will be encouraged by the truth that God will faithfully provide for His children even when all hope seems lost.

Ruth

Would you consider the audio edition of Unshaken to be better than the print version?

Sorry to say, didn't read the print version, only audio version.

What other book might you compare Unshaken to and why?

I've not had another book/audio like this.

Have you listened to any of Barbara Rosenblat’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Barbara is good.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Ruth's selfless devotion on every side. Admirable.

Any additional comments?

This is my fourth book in the "Lineage of Grace" series and each have been magnificent. The writer knows how to pull out and display all the love, feelings and emotions at the right and appointed time without destroying one's imagination. This was a magnificent, MAGNIFICENT book.

Such A Love Story!

I would give everything for a love as deep as Ruth and Boaz. Only God can give that love between a man and woman. My dear does not and never will be a man of faith nor will he ever look at me as a woman of faith and honor. Makes me sad. I thought this book in the series is outstanding! . Can't wait for the next one.

Redeming Grace

If you listen to the book of Ruth, it is only 15 minutes long but, there is so much more between the lines.
I enjoyed how Francine Rivers filled in-between those lines. The road back to Bethlehem is long, dirty and dangerous and Ruth probably was the gossip of the town; shunned because she was different and a foreigner. She might have had a hard time finding a field where she could glean in piece and not be afraid.
And, what kind of man would have a son for another man? But, that is what Boaz did and I couldn't give my baby to another woman to raise. I know that is still done today but, I don't know if I would be able to do that.
I enjoyed this book, it made me feel like I understood the story of Ruth better. I hope you too will understand your own prejudices better when you read this book.

Great Story; Truly Terrible Narrator

Would you listen to Unshaken again? Why?

I've listened to the version published by Bethany House and loved it. Would absolutely listen to that narrator again. This one is awful; definitely not.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Boaz. He was lovely, but all of them are well written.

How could the performance have been better?

I refer to question one.

If you could rename Unshaken, what would you call it?

I was captivated!

I truly love how Francine Rivers intermingles God's truth with background understanding of the culture and the people of that time along with insight making this book a rich experience.
