Do you want to make a deal?

There I was, being thrown into The Pit where my fate awaited.

I was ready, prepared even.

Accepting what was to come.

But running into a Dragonbond and his clan was something I didn't expect.

He says he has use for me, but I would rather be burned alive than be taken by him and their cruel ways.

Now I just need to escape.

Only, he offers me something I haven't been given before... a choice

Take the deal or die.

Upon Buried Embers is perfect for fans who want the vibes of a grown-up version of How To Train Your Dragon with a dash of Viking honor and deadly games.

Upon Buried Embers is the first book in a duet and will get darker. It's an MF dark fantasy romance with puppy but ferocious dragons, a deadly deal, and spice that does contain dark/graphic themes and mature language. Contains mature content. A complete list of content warnings can be found on the author's website.

When a Viking warrior who can bring a dragon to heel yet still carries a kind, empathetic heart steps onto the page it just hits differently. Kelly Cove has a gift for creating emotionally strong FMCs and MMCs who are almost too good-hearted for their own sake. The way she weaves relationships, between humans, magical beings, and even animals is simply beautiful.

This is a powerful story of perseverance against all odds. At its core is a heroine who has never known kindness, yet continues to give it freely, often at her own expense. Alongside her stands a hero burdened with the responsibility of his clan and his dragons constantly sacrificing to ensure not just their survival, but also their happiness.

The world is rich with unforgettable side characters you can’t help but adore. But the true stars of the story? The dragons.

It’s a testament to Kelly’s incredible writing that each dragon feels like a fully realized character, their personalities shining through without a single spoken word. I found myself just as invested, if not more in their fates as I was in the human characters. Honestly, I think I love the dragons most of all.

I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us next. This is absolutely a MUST READ!

Beautiful story of healing with twist you never see coming!
