Thomas More (1478-1535), político, religioso y escritor inglés, alcanzó la inmortalidad por su rígida postura religiosa contraria a la del rey Enrique VIII. Esto también le costaría la vida. Ejemplo de conducta y convicción, Moro debe su prestigio a una obra fundamental: Utopía (1516), un relato satírico sobre la vida en una isla de ficción llamada así.
