Story
Princess Gabriella had escaped captivity, but she'd lost her memory and her kidnappers were still on the loose. She needed a protector fast, and brash American Reeve MacGee was the perfect man for the job. The handsome ex-policeman could handle absolutely anything - except falling in love with the stunning, vulnerable woman in his care.
Publisher's Summary
The Valley of Silence is a forbidding place for the battle of all battles, but the circle continues to prepare, through magic and a few early stakeouts that test their strength individually and as a team.
Moira finds herself playing the roles of warrior and royal as she follows the tradition of her people and prepares to take the crown before leading them into battle. And if that isn't enough, she finds her thoughts turning to Cian more often than not.
So what's a chaste and intelligent young woman to do when given less than a month with the man she loves, who's not a man, but a vampire? And how will the people of Geall fare against an army of blood-thirsty vampires who have had centuries to prepare?
Critic Reviews
"Dick Hill's narration gives further evidence why he is an AudioFile Golden Voice and Audie winner. Even if you're not a fan of this genre, Hill does such a convincing job as each character that one cannot help but be entertained by this action-packed tale of good versus evil." ( AudioFile)

My favorite trilogy made even better
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. As fantastic as Nora Roberts' writing is in this book, Dick Hill made it even better. I've probably read this trilogy 5 or 6 times but listening to it was like experiencing it for the forst time.
What did you like best about this story?
This series has it all - romance, action, and good vs evil. Of course since this is the final book the climax will make you cheer and cry.
What does Dick Hill bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His variety of voices are perfect including the men and women and spanning countries and centuries.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I wouldn't dream of ruining this series for anyone, but there were several moments that moved me including the last 3 chapters of this book.

Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Here is my review of "Morrigan's Cross", the first book of the trilogy. My review stands for all 3 of the books. I really liked them all.
"I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before I bought this book, as I might have missed out on a very good read. I finished "Morrigan's Cross" (the first book in the Circle trilogy) and couldn't wait to start the second book, to which I am currently listening. I love the paranormal/mythological air of the story, and the coming together of the characters from different times. Yes, as someone pointed out, there is a slight resemblance to the story line in the Sign of 7 trilogy, but only in that a group of characters come together to fight evil; otherwise the story lines are different.
As far as the narrator, Dick Hill, I think he did a fine job and I enjoyed his narration. He does a great Irish brogue (I love Hoyt's voice), and I am able to distinguish the characters' voices with no problem. The comment was made by another reviewer that he made the female voices sound whiny. I think he did a very acceptable job for a man with a deep voice."

Series was too long, but liked the love story
Bought all three of the books in this series at once, and glad I did, cause it sure left you hanging from book to book. By the time I got to this one, I was just wanting an end to it. The quest was so long and drawn out, and the actual battle, of good against evil, was very short lived. I did like the love story in this book, which is what kept me interested. I was wondering just what Ms Roberts would do with Cian, in the end, but that too, I managed to figure out. You have to keep reading though, just to make sure. All in all, it's a good tale, but I did get tired of the series, by the time it was done. The love story, is intense and keeps you listening.

The Best
I have never written a review before, but I had to for this book trilogy. The 3rd book in the The Circle Trilogy is my overall favorite Valley of Silence. These books have it all romance, sci-fi, and drama. It has a little of everything for everyone. I tend to listen to the audiobook trilogy at least once a year. I would recommend to all my friends and have on many occasions.

Great Read/Listen
Would you consider the audio edition of Valley of Silence to be better than the print version?
I don't know why we don't have a movie/mini-series or actual series out of books like these. Dick Hill has a great voice and way of reading. Great series!

Good potential, lacking action-wise
Very good performance on the reader's part, decently written story, but for an 'Epic Trilogy about Love, Myth and Magic' there's not much being said about Magic and the Mythical and the Love portion is tamed at best. Also, building up to an Epic Battle to preserve all Life in this World and Beyond, then having said battle condensed into a single chapter, with so little details and action is pretty underwhelming. Overall, it makes me think the author never read Homère, Rowling or Tolkien's work, else the description would be more developped and could feel more involved. Not worth to be mentionned in any top 10 or even top 25 stories I've read😔

Best of the trilogy. The ending is predictable, but the main characters were all likeable and well-rounded. Good mix of folklore and fantasy.

Valley of Silence
I have read these books several times so was really happy to get the audio book. This is my favourite due to the character hook up. The only thing I didn't like was one of the characters accents. A little grating and cheap sounding. It always sounds different in your head when you read it so shouldn't complain. I enjoyed the entire trilogy and wouldn't mind in they turned it into a trilogy movie. I would certainly watch it.

A truly epic ending
The day of reckoning is almost here. As Moira prepares to lead the troops to the battle ground in the valley of silence and assumes her mother's throne, she becomes ever more powerfully drawn to Cian, the circle's troubled vampire adviser. Cian knows that whether they win or lose this war, a life with Moira is impossible, bbut his feelings won't be denied. This is a powerful tale of love and sacrifice and the stunning conclusion to this brilliant trilogy.
