Ramayana is one of the greatest epics, ascribed to the Maharishi Valmiki, narrates the life of Rama, a legendary prince of Ayodhya city in the kingdom of Kosala. The holy scripture was translated into Telugu by Sripada Subrahmanya Sastry. Sripada translated all Khandas (parts) in Telugu in his style. The second one is Ayodhya Khanda. Ayodhya Khanda depicts the story of King Dasaratha deciding to handle the kingdom to Sri Rama. However, Kaikeyi delivers her two wishes which prevent Rama from becoming the King. Rama then decides to leave for the forest and Bharatha pleads with Rama to come back. This part also has the death of Dasaratha. Ancient, Classical & Medieval Literature
