Wulzendorf in Niederösterreich: Hier ist die Welt noch in Ordnung. Trotzdem hat der Suchanek so gar keine Lust, nach jahrelang erfolgreicher Heimatflucht nun gleich für mehrere Tage das Haus seiner Eltern zu hüten. Muss er aber. Das hat Folgen. Gleich in der ersten Nacht wird Suchanek beim Kiffen auf dem Balkon Zeuge einer Brandstiftung. Mit Todesfall. Die Frau vom Feuerwehrhauptmann, Mitglied der reaktionären "Legio Mariae", war im Dorf nicht gerade beliebt – aber deswegen bringt man doch nicht gleich jemanden um! Bei der einen Leiche bleibt es indes nicht. Die nächste sieht sogar noch grauslicher aus. Und der Suchanek gerät in Teufels Küche.
