Von Wallace bleibt lediglich eine nach ihm benannte Trennlinie der Arten im Malaiischen Archipel. 150 Jahre später stößt der Museumsnachtwächter Albrecht Bromberg auf die Geschichte des vergessenen Wallace. Er reist auf seinen Spuren durch ferne Länder und kämpft darum, dass Wallace erhält, die Würdigung erhält, die ihm zusteht.
