A slow burner
I found the beginning sounded a bit too light hearted for a thriller, maybe because of the narrator’s accent BUT I stuck with it and it turned out to be a good listen in the end. I read Lisa Jewell’s first novel and loved that.

Loved this
Narration one of the best I have heard and a great storyline. I guessed who did it half way through but that didn't matter as there was an extra unexpected little twist at the end. Thoroughly recommend and will be downloading her other works and looking out for Gabrielle Glaister narrated books in future

Fantastic
The thing that sets Lisa Jewell apart is her characterisation. I found this book utterly compelling especially Freddie the teenage boy who is “on the spectrum”, very well done. I think it’s not as easy as it looks to create “ordinary” characters who are interesting and engaging but Jewell is a master at this craft. It sets her apart from all those novels where the author feels compelled to give characters high powered and/or interesting jobs for example.
All in all a great read with a zinger of am ending.

Good story, bad format.
The story line was interesting, but the format was thoroughly boring. The use of the initials before every statement in the police interviews is very annoying.
The whole story felt disjointed in it’s delivery despite it’s interesting content.

A bit confusing but just okay
I listened to the full thing and it confused me because at the beginning there were so many characters that got thrown at you but I kept listening and overall I found it not as shocking and exciting as her other books I’ve read. It’s not too bad but I wouldn’t read it again.
