Christine and her older brother, Henry, grew up in the Delaney family as loved and nurtured as if they had been born to Elizabeth and Wynn. Now adults, they are ready to make new lives for themselves. Henry has found love and is planning a wedding. Christine is delighted for her brother, but she is still carrying scars from a broken relationship. And the war in Europe causes uncertainties at every turn, while the Northland still calls to her heart.

Amid this instability, more than one handsome young man shows interest in Christine, and she must make a decision. Is she willing to give up her dreams of a life in the North for a love to last a lifetime?

Very amateur performance.

First I have to kick myself for not realizing this is an abridged reading of the book. Checking back, the full version is not available. I was disappointed in a couple of voices. Christina is not a little girl. She is a young woman. The other readings of this series are done SO much better.

When tomorrow comes

I very much enjoyed the book but felt it was way to short for the price.

Unexpected...

The ending was unexpected, but not in a good way. The story was so short I feel like the author ran out of time and just scribbled an ending instead of writing out the whole book. Disappointing end to a great series.

Narrator is terrible

I love these books. The narrator is bland and does not change switching characters and does not change his inflection. Really disappointing to listen to these books with this narrator.

Narrator was awful

The narrator did an awful job and changed the way the characters are perceived. Elizabeth sounded very manly, which is the exact opposite of the way she was voiced in the previous 5 books. Christine was made to sound like an airhead, also very different than the previous book. I did not enjoy the narrator one bit.

worst of the 6

I have loved this series but I am struggling to get through this one. The reader is absolutely horrible so I'm not sure if the story is as bad as it seems or if it's just the ridiculous voices.

Worst Narration Performance EVER

This story is lovely however completely ruined by the woman reading it. Do yourself a favor and read the book rather than listen to this audible version. She does this simpleton girlish voice for the leading lady - all her characterizations are terrible. How did this ever happen? I feel sad for the author to have her work tarnished so.

Good book

Overall a good book. The narration was great but the story did not turn out the way I had hoped it would. I would still recommend this book.

Good, but not as engaging as usual.

I found it difficult to accept the new voices of this books narrator. She seemed to be fairly competetent, but her voice for Christine was too young. it made her sound like a small child when in fact she is a grown woman.

A bit lame

Compared to the other Janette oke books, this one felt a bit lame. The romance was unconvincing and didn't draw you in. the narration was strange, made Christine's voice high pitched and the older ladies low pitched, and the child voice was like a squeak. A bit disappointing.

The performance is comical

After such great narration for the first 5 books of this series, this one falls way short. The character voices are almost impersonations and Christines voice in particular is so whining and sounds like a nasally teenager. Disappointing and distracting for what is a beautiful story.
