Too relatable.
You know when you relate an trash character in a TV show and then find asking yourself "Am I trash?". That is what this book feels like. Like its personally calling me out. I will now try to find comfort in death now that this book held up such a freaking huge mirror to my face. I know I am trash, and this book perfectly sums up my life. The only way out is to not partici

heartbreaking 💔
It was a great listen. In the usual dostoevskian fashion with monologues that are beautiful and which has a special power to draw you in.

Heartbreaking yet somehow redeeming.
Dostoevsky's writing transcends description; his exploration of human emotions and portrayal of them in a heart-wrenching manner is truly exceptional.

A moving story…
Edwardo’s performance is quite griping. A brilliant way to look into the mind of an introvert.

Not much
I don't, can't think much of it. Maybe I'm too far removed from time and situations but then the same is true of Austen. It skinda slow paced and boring.

Read it for the prose and narration.
The main is lonely, and so is the woman. On these white nights, they meet. The man listens to the woman's story and the woman listens to the man's story. The man falls in love with the woman. But the woman loves another. The plot is simple buit the prose is an expression of the deep anguish of the lonely souls that search for their soul mates in white nights.
