Als bedeutende Mäzene zählen Moritz und Hermine Gallia zum engen Kreis der Kulturschaffenden und Künstler der Wiener Secession. Gustav Klimt, Josef Hoffmann und Gustav und Alma Mahler gehen in ihrem Haus in der Wohllebengasse ein und aus. Doch der kulturellen Blütezeit folgt die Katastrophe der 30er Jahre. Für die Töchter Gretl und Käthe bedeutet dies die Vertreibung aus der Heimat.
