A short Valentine’s Day story by USA Today best-selling authors Ella Frank & Brooke Blaine - available now on Passionflix!

Christmas has always been Carter Pierce’s favorite holiday. But with his partner, Dr. Vaughn Bennett, working crazy hours in the ER, it’s difficult to make any kind of plans.

Easter was an appendectomy.

Thanksgiving, a ruptured spleen.

And Christmas had called Vaughn away to work for Doctors Without Borders.

So when the calendar hits February 14th, Carter expects it will be just another day when he kisses his man goodbye so he can go and save the world.

Little does he know that Vaughn has a huge surprise up his sleeve - one that will change their lives forever.

Short, sexy and sweet

You couldn’t help but smile while listening to Carter and Vaughn’s story. It’s a retelling of how they met, to their first I Love You to their HEA, done in a few flashbacks to the present day.
Sweet story, it’s a good palate cleanser if you’ve done enough reading of angsty books.
Wesley Paul did a great job with his narration.

A valentines Christmas-by Hallmark

From meet-cute to HEA, told via a couple of flashbacks, this was a sweet MM listen. Other than the relationship run-through, there’s no other plot or conflict, which made this a bit of a shallow listen. The dialogue was also on the average side. The sex is the clean, fade to black variety. If you want a Hallmark quickie, this fits the bill (except for some F bombs that felt a tad out of place). Beyond a free listen, however, I wouldn’t recommend.

Such a sweet little story.

I originally read this back when the book released in 2018 and was excited to see the audiobook was now available. I enjoyed Wesley Paul's performance, He's a new to me narrator but I'll definitely be on the lookout for more of his books! And I see he's one of the narrators for another book by Ella and Brooke, All I Want for Christmas...Is My Sister's Boyfriend, which I have queued up next!

4.5*

Wrapped Up In You is completely adorable, so sweet and swoony, I just loved it! Carter and Vaughn are so in love, it just radiates off the pages. This is a quick read but with the use of flashbacks we get to see how their relationship began, which lead them to the sweetest Valentine's Day ever.

Almost painfully sweet

Generally a romance has time to wander from the messy lives to the meet cute to the will they/won't they to the misunderstandings or hurt feelings or whatever obstacle must be hurdled before true love conquers all. In this not even 90 minute listen much of that has been boiled away so you are left with two hot guys, crazy in love, and remembering the best and sweetest moments that brought them together. It is nearly syrupy sweet.

Short, (too) Sweet Novella

OVERALL: This is my first Ella Frank & Brooke Blaine book. It is also my first book narrated by Wesley Paul. There’s not a lot of plot or conflict here -- just a look into Carter and Vaughn’s relationship.

STORYLINE: This is a fun, holiday-themed quickie centered around Valentine’s Day. I think one of the more unique things about this novella is that the two main characters are already in a relationship. It is an easy-to-listen to romance that teeters on the Hallmark end of the spectrum of being overly sweet (without a ton of sex, banter, or hilarity to balance it out).

CHARACTERS: Carter Pierce and Dr. Vaughn Bennett have been together for a while, but they don’t have a lot of time together (especially during the holiday season) due to Vaughn’s work schedule as an ER doctor. But Vaughn has a plan: this Valentine’s Day, his focus is to recreate Christmas (Carter’s favorite holiday), along with some trips down Memory Lane.

NARRATION: Wesley Paul has a great voice. He speaks clearly, and every character is distinguished quite nicely. He makes it easy to fall into the story and care about these characters. I would absolutely seek out another audiobook narrated by him.

didn't love the narration

I hate when a narrator doesn't use different voices for the main characters :(

Sweet Valentine

This is a pretty short and sweet valentine tale. If you're a hallmark fan you'll love this one. Narration is done well.
