About this listen

Heathcliff, an orphan, is brought to Wuthering Heights, where he is raised alongside Catherine. They soon become lovers and inseparable soul mates. However, Catherine chooses to marry Edgar Linton, an antithesis to Heathcliff, mainly out of her desire for social status. This leads to Heathcliff being consumed by revenge. Heathcliff leaves the moors, only to return later as a wealthy and polished man. What follows is a series of tragic events.

Entertaining.

Great performance by the narrator.

I'm guessing every drama fiction these days in some way came from this book

Classic but not that exciting

The story spans several generations and can be confusing at times because of the similarity in names of the characters. Not that exciting, the story revolves around characters of a family and their internal politics

The narration is good. The story is classic

I liked to listen to this, it was kind of long though. Of course, from a modern lens, it won't look too appealing, but it's still worth a read (or listen? hearing?)

Equally fascinating as it is disturbing

The narration was a tad too fast for my taste, but easily remedied by playing ut with 0.95 x speed.

Beautiful satire on love.

Narration was beautiful, specially since the story is narrated by Mrs Dean. And if the story was a satire on romance, it hit the perfect spot. Although sometimes the actions of characters seemed very obnoxious, perhaps because the novel is dated. But all in all, a good classic read.

a good English classic as a freshner

it's one of the good English classics that is steeped in pristine language, typical plot of a story of those times and we'll paced that it doesn't allow disinterest to creep in. voice over is equally effective with a pleasing matter of fact tone, modulation and clarity. excellent work by Shernaz on a great story by Emily Bronte. Quite a refresher for refind language.
