Publisher's Summary

When little Zanna's oldest brother died just before Christmas, she was left with the gift she had made for him - a picture that only he would have understood. Every Christmas, Zanna's gift is brought out and displayed as a way of including their lost brother in the celebration. This is the story of the life of that family, and of the many gifts they gave each other that could only be understood with love.

So beautiful! One of my fav OSC books!

Card, once again, shows us his deep understanding of the human condition. Nobody does character development better. Prepare to fall in love with these people as Card unfolds the story.

One of the best from an amazing writer.

Sad, happy, and real. This is one of the most emotional stories I have ever herd. the Writing is perfection and complemented by a reading that I will listen to and share over and over.

Constancy is a gift from God

I have read many books from Mr. S. Card and the way he nudges into introspection and confession is constant, regardless of ambience.
More than books, his works are journeys…

A Masterpiece from a favorite author

This short work is an amazing celebration of family life with all of its joys and sorrows. If you think of Orson Scott Card solely as a science fiction writer you have been missing something of his depth and breadth but this piece is exceptional even for him. Wow!

Delightful. Deeply touching. A wonderful work. I’ve already shared it with family. Thank you, Orson Scott Card. You continue to entertain, lift, provoke and expand thought. Loved this story.

So sweet and well written

Don’t hesitate, very sweet and bittersweet! I can see moments of my own family in here as I’m sure many will. It’s not overwhelmingly sad and so accurately presents moments in life over the years. I’m glad I listened.
