The most dominant sports team of the last 35 years isn't the New England Patriots, Golden State Warriors, or Tampa Bay Lightning. It's the UConn Women's Basketball team.
The Huskies have reached the Final Four 25 times and captured an astonishing 12 championships. Between 2008 and 2010, they won 90 consecutive games — a mark that's only been topped by their own 111-game winning streak.
But UConn wasn't always the powerhouse we know today. When Geno Auriemma arrived in 1985, the program had just one winning season in its history.
This is the story of UConn's rise to prominence, and the team that won the first of those 12 championships. Did they benefit from luck and good timing? Or did they have some secret sauce no other program could match? Join us as we dive into the 1995 UConn Huskies!
