On this episode of The MotUS Edge Podcast, Stacy Rowe and Sean Timmons sit down with Rommel Osuna, Tumbling Director at World Cup New Jersey and creator of TumbleCon and Tumble for Troops, to talk about coaching, education, tumbling technique, athlete safety, and the power of sharing knowledge throughout the cheerleading industry. Rommel shares how TumbleCon grew from conversations among some of the industry's leading tumbling coaches into a hands-on educational conference where coaches learn different approaches to teaching, spotting, drills, and skill development. The conversation explores why there is no single way to coach every athlete—and why the best coaches never stop learning. Rommel also shares the inspiring story behind Tumble for Troops, a nonprofit that brings cheer gyms together to raise money for veteran-focused charities. What began as one Veterans Day open gym in New Jersey has grown into a nationwide effort that has donated more than $150,000 to organizations supporting veterans. Plus, hear what's ahead for TumbleCon, including continued events in Texas, Georgia, and Arizona, possible expansion into the Northeast, and potential international locations in Canada and the UK. This episode is perfect for cheer coaches, tumbling instructors, gym owners, program directors, and youth sports professionals looking to improve coaching techniques, develop safer athletes, invest in staff education, and build a stronger coaching culture.
