  • 250. DVC Resort Review: Disney's Polynesian Villas And Bungalows
    Oct 12 2026

A resort can be “close to Magic Kingdom,” or it can make you feel like you’ve escaped to somewhere else entirely. Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows somehow pulls off both, and for our 250th episode we go all-in on what makes the Poly such a fan favorite, from its opening day roots in 1971 to the big changes that brought DVC villas in 2015 and the new Island Tower in 2024.

We walk through the accommodations in plain language so you can actually choose the right fit: the spacious Deluxe Studios in the longhouses, the wildly iconic overwater bungalows with private decks and fireworks views, and the Island Tower lineup including Duo Studios, One-Bedroom Villas with full kitchens, larger two-bedroom options, and those top-floor penthouse villas. We also break down what “resort,” “preferred,” and “theme park” views mean in practice, plus the little design details that matter when you’re traveling as a couple or as a family.

Then we get practical with Disney Vacation Club points, contract timelines through 2066, and the basics you need for planning, like check-in times, parking, and why this is one of the best-connected resorts at Walt Disney World. We also cover the amenities that turn a park trip into a real vacation: pools, beach time on Seven Seas Lagoon, marina options, and those Island Tower lounges that double as prime viewing spots.

And yes, we spend time on the food, because the Polynesian dining bench is deep: Tonga Toast at Kona Cafe and Capt. Cook’s, ‘Ohana’s character breakfast and dinner feast, Wailulu Bar and Grill, and the legendary Trader Sam’s experience.

If you’ve stayed at the Polynesian, we want to hear your stories, and if you’re planning your first visit, tell us what’s calling your name. Subscribe, share, and leave a review so more Disney fans can find us.

  • 249. British Isles On The Disney Dream
    Oct 5 2026

A Disney cruise without tropical beaches sounds wrong until you hear what happens when the Disney Dream heads for the British Isles. We’re joined by our friends Andrew and Meredith, two experienced DCL fans who still chose to fly from Orlando to England for a seven-night sailing out of Southampton. They break down what made this itinerary feel special, from hidden sail away spots to the moments that felt like pure Disney magic in places Disney doesn’t visit often.

We dig into what a port heavy Europe cruise really feels like: cooler weather, fewer kids, and indoor events that can fill up fast. Then we get into the ports. Liverpool goes full Beatles with Penny Lane, Strawberry Field, and a museum deep dive, capped by a jaw-dropping community send-off with fireworks. Scotland brings the reality of long drives from Greenock and a reminder that tides can literally change how you get on and off the ship. Ireland delivers with a Jameson distillery tour in Cork via Cobh and plenty of local flavor, while Portland, England turns into the big Stonehenge debate, iconic history or just very famous rocks.

We also cover onboard highlights like Palo, standout crew service, Europe sailing merchandise, and an adults-only sail away tip from Meridian that we can’t wait to try ourselves.

If you’ve been curious about a British Isles cruise, a Disney Dream itinerary in Europe, or whether Disney excursions are worth it in unfamiliar ports, this one’s for you. Subscribe, share with a Disney fan, and leave a rating and review so more listeners can find the show.

  • 248. A Disney Fan's Guide to HHN Orlando
    Sep 28 2026

Seven hours of lines or one night of pure haunted-house chaos? Alicea's back from Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights with the kind of real-world planning details theme park fans actually need, from early entry timing to why Express Pass can completely rewrite your night. If you’ve only done Disney Halloween parties, this is your warning and your invitation: HHN is built to scare you, with foggy scare zones, roaming “scaractors,” and houses that go hard on gore, sound, and surprise.

We walk through what Halloween Horror Nights is, how it differs from Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and what might shock first-timers most: the intensity, the late hours, and the scale of the production. We talk scare zones, the infamous “chicken badge” (officially the Deathly Afraid necklace), and how Universal balances big intellectual property haunted houses with original icons and stories. You’ll also hear our highlights from the house lineup, including why the Ozzy Osbourne house stole the show and how familiar stories like Stranger Things translate into a fast-moving, high-impact walkthrough.

Then we flip the lights on. The Behind The Screams tour is one of the best ways to appreciate Halloween Horror Nights as a craft, not just a thrill, with deep dives into sets, props, effects, and the hidden details you miss when you’re rushing through the dark. If you’re a Disney fan who loves Imagineering-level detail, this might be the HHN experience that wins you over.

Subscribe for more theme park trip strategy, share this with your Disney and Universal friends, and leave us a review so more listeners can find the show. Are you team HHN, team Disney Halloween, or both?
