Matt Mingay started stunt riding in the 90s, much to the confusion of the family, who thought he should get a real job.

The pursuit of making a motorcycle do things it was never meant to do, didn't seem like a sensible career choice.

Until of course, the producers of this little franchise called Mission: Impossible came to Australia looking for a stunt double for Tom Cruise.

In what became a life changing experience, Matt's life was catapulted into the world of stunt riding and entertainment.

None of it has come easy and to say that it's been a bumpy road is an understatement of the century.

Despite near life ending injuries and setbacks, Matt has persevered in way that is almost superhuman. This is a very special conversation with a man who has demonstrated what can be achieved with the most phenomenal belief and relentless work ethic.

I met Bear Woolgar at Mad Mike's Summer Bash in 2025. He was in New Zealand for the weekend, from the UK. My kind of guy.
