  • Rachel's Conversion Experience
    Jul 20 2022

This time, we wanted to share with everyone some of Rachel's experiences learning about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and the beliefs and practices. Rachel was raised a member of a local Church in her area, with her family, and was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in January of 2021.

Her experience is unique, as is everyone's experience with spiritual things. We hope that hearing her experience is helpful to someone!

  • Sheeps of the Fold and Their Shepherd
    Jul 1 2022

In this epidose (remember, epic + dose = epidose), Rachel and I have a conversation surrounding some principles that were brought to our minds by the proximity of some national holidays where we live. We discuss some of the historical significance of the Book of Mormon, and where it took place, as well as some of the historical events that took place that allowed it to even exist.

We hope you enjoy the podcast! Please send us your feedback or questions.

  • The Promised Land! Lehi, Nephi, Jeremiah, and King Zedekiah
    May 23 2022

**Rachel and I are having issues with our microphones (and we are amateur editors of sound...) so please be patient with any background noise in this episode. We're working on getting some new equipment. **

In this episode (Justin prefers to call them epidoses (because they're an epic-dose ;) ) we discuss another historical/chronological connection between the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon: Lehi, Nephi, Jeremiah, and King Zedekiah. Around 600 BC, Lehi and his family (Nephi being his youngest son) are led away from Jerusalem just short time before it is destroyed/taken captive. Listen in to learn about some patterns found in both of our favorite books, and some of the things we love about this historical connection between them.

  • Why 'Ancient Sticks'? Oh! And the Tower of Babel!
    May 11 2022

A conversation about why we chose the name of this podcast (or a debate, depending on how you look at it), and a discussion about the Tower of Babel, and some of the people who were there! Turns out, there's more to the story of the Tower of Babel than you know!

*At the time of posting this episode, Rachel has acquiesced and now understands that the Tower of Babel was likely NOT in Babylon. Score: Justin 1 / Rachel 0

  • Episode 1: Introduction to Rachel and Justin
    Apr 26 2022

Our first episode is your introduction to us (Rachel and Justin), your podcast hosts, and a little about what exactly our hope is for the podcast. We want to host an entertaining and uplifting podcast about how our two favorite books can be used together, and what can happen when they are. Those books are the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon, and we love them with all of our heart. We want to share the power they have had in our lives with all of you, and we hope you'll join us for this journey.
