NYC Antisemitism Surge and Election Rhetoric Concerns
    Oct 15 2026
New York City is experiencing a surge in antisemitic hate crimes, including vandalism and threats, as reported by the Cleveland Jewish News. The political landscape is fraught with concerns over candidate rhetoric, with a Newsweek report detailing pressure on Jewish voters to overlook antisemitic statements and an analysis from MS.now focusing on Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed's "anti-Zionist rhetoric." Internationally, a Dublin hotel canceled bookings for an antisemitism conference, which organizers called contemporary antisemitism. Additionally, an ADL report highlights subtler online bias on Wikipedia, while Yale Law School launches a blog for empirical studies of antisemitism. The episode concludes with a community event remembering victims of the October 7th attacks.Sources:- axios.com: https://www.axios.com/local/chicago/2026/10/15/raja-krishnamoorthi-fbi-hate-crime-temple-hindu-mass-shooting-plot-aurora- clevelandjewishnews.com: https://www.clevelandjewishnews.com/jns/nypd-says-major-crimes-are-down-in-2026-but-jewish-new-yorkers-still-feel-unsafe/article_07e233e9-4f89-5aff-a1c1-61a3c44ece2b.html- clevelandjewishnews.com: https://www.clevelandjewishnews.com/jns/adl-gratz-college-launch-program-to-combat-campus-antisemitism/article_ad0f01f4-f440-5da7-a729-5d98ce4e3227.html- facebook.com: https://www.facebook.com/ScottSingerUSA/posts/great-meeting-with-jewish-students-throughout-our-district-with-antisemitism-on-/1506909374581422/- youtube.com: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7tOOydJLzI- jpost.com: https://www.jpost.com/diaspora/article-911886- newsweek.com: https://www.newsweek.com/stop-asking-jewish-voters-to-sacrifice-their-values-opinion-12560667- columbusjewishnews.com: https://www.columbusjewishnews.com/jns/anti-israel-editors-using-subtler-ways-to-slander-jewish-state-on-wikipedia-adl-says/article_214a51df-0612-5b7d-ba06-dff346c63419.html- ms.now: https://www.ms.now/opinion/abdul-el-sayed-jewish-voters-michigan-senate- nytimes.com: https://www.nytimes.com/2026/10/15/world/europe/ireland-dublin-hotel-antisemitism.html- law.yale.edu: https://law.yale.edu/centers-and-workshops/brodie-center-jewish-and-israeli-law/measuring-antisemitism-blog-empirical- haaretz.com: https://www.haaretz.com/us-news/2026-10-15/ty-article/.premium/trumps-antisemitism-tour-promotes-appeal-by-right-wing-pro-israel-group/000001a1-3c5c-de23-a5fb-bedd905f0000- themedialine.org: https://themedialine.org/top-stories/colombia-weighs-joining-holocaust-remembrance-alliance-after-opening-jerusalem-embassy/- JTA: https://www.jta.org/2026/10/15/global/irish-jewish-leader-shocked-after-hotel-cancels-over-70-rooms-for-antisemitism-conference- clevelandjewishnews.com: https://www.clevelandjewishnews.com/jns/uae-joins-international-antisemitism-forum-for-first-time/article_a0648b7f-b43d-59ff-ba85-f9aca8e42293.html- longisland.news12.com: https://longisland.news12.com/optimum-partnership-brings-125000-investment-to-local-businesses-in-woodbridge- jewishlink.news: https://jewishlink.news/jcc-of-middlesex-county-commemorates-oct-7/Music Attribution:Intro: Intro: Music by https://pixabay.com/users/dariocoiro-54756271/ Dario Coiro from PixabayOutro: Outro: Music by https://pixabay.com/users/muzaproduction-24990238/ Aleksandr Karabanov from Pixabay

This episode of Antisemitism Watch features a lawsuit against Harvard University alleging religious discrimination and retaliation against a Jewish employee, Daniel Lilienthal. We also examine the Anti-Defamation League's findings that Wikipedia continues to host antisemitic and anti-Israel bias, even after banning editors. Plus, President Trump's antisemitism czar, Leo Terrell, launches a national 'American Tour Against Hate' from Michigan, amidst political tensions. Finally, leaders from seven major global Jewish communities convened in London to address the rising tide of antisemitism, with 2025 marking the deadliest year for antisemitic violence in the diaspora in decades.
