  • Art Is Good For You! S1 Ep6
    Dec 31 2025

Final Episode! How does art help discover and strengthen personal identity? Have a listen- it's fascinating.

(Before we start, sensitive listeners should know that there are brief references to mental health issues, specifically self-harm, in this episode. If you're watching on YouTube, there is briefly some imagery relating to self-harm, too.)

Welcome to Art Is Good For You! It's my new podcast spreading the message that making and experiencing art helps with healing and happiness, no matter who you are.

I'm Rachel Duffield, an inspirational art teacher and art life coach and the founder of Community Art Clubs CIC. It's my belief that even if art isn't up front and centre in your life, it can still have a big impact, sometimes in unexpected ways! So I'm inviting people from all walks of life - some arty, some not - to chat with me about the three pieces of art in their life that have turned out to me memorable, special or even life-saving.

My fifth guest is Matt Warnes, a full time artist, for whom art has been pivotal in helping find not only his career path but also his identity as a 'chicken dad and young queer person'.

  • Coming Soon: Art Is Good For You! S1
    Dec 12 2025

Art is Good for You! The podcast spreading the message that making and experiencing art can help with healing and happiness, no matter who we are.

I'm Rachel Duffield, an artist, art teacher and art life coach working in beautiful East Anglia, UK.

After nearly twenty years working in museum education, I gave it al up to start a Community Interest Company helping people in rural areas make and experience art. At 52 (that 'tricky' age) I'm so lucky to be living the dream doing what I love.

It's my belief that even if art isn't up front and centre in your life, it can still have a big impact - sometimes in unexpected ways!

So, I'm inviting people from all walks of life - some arty, some not - to chat with me about the three pieces of art in their life that have turned out to be memorable, special or even life-saving.

In this series I'll be talking with a librarian, a personal trainer, a project manager, a funeral celebrant, an actor, and inevitable, an artist.

You can tune in to Series 1 of Art Is Good For You! from 26th December 2025, on Spotify and YouTube.
