    Nov 11 2022

In this episode, I talk with Nia Obotette, author of "I am a Triathlete". Nia was inspired to write this book when she could not find a book that reflected an African American Woman's perspective and experience in the sport of Triathlon. She wrote this book to encourage her niece and other African-American girls to dream big and go beyond their perspectives and limitations based on society's views of how African-American girls are portrayed; or lack thereof.

    Jan 4 2022

Hello and thank you for tuning into the BEING YOU 365 Podcast. My name is Sandra and I am the creator and host of this podcast.

In this next episode, I sit down with my friend McKenley Mason to talk about his journey to become an IRONMAN. McKenley is 63 years old and recently completed his first IRONMAN event. Completing his first IRONMAN was something that he trained for over a year and shared with us life lessons that he learned along the way.

Key points to take away from our conversations: 1. It's never too late to live your dreams 2. It only takes one person 3. Do what makes you happy and not worry about pleasing others 4. Live is short. BE PRESENT. BE YOU.

  • Episode 15 Finding My Voice
    Aug 10 2021

We all go through things that make us question our purpose. For the last few months, I've been working on trying to better understand this concept in relation to how I perceive the world and how the world perceives me.

Finding my voice has come with some good and bad lessons in managing relationships. We all have to make compromises in regards to what is acceptable and what is negotiable in order to maintain a healthy balance.

What are you willing to comprise in order to maintain a healthy relationship?

  • Episode 14: Searching for my Inspiration
    Feb 19 2021

Several months ago, I hit a wall and found myself stuck. Personally, I had some things happen in 2020 that have me pause and I found myself mourning some lost friendships. Creatively, I ran out of juice due to the aforementioned reason.

My inspiration was there but I had to open my eye and my heart to allow God to help me see his plan for my life. My inspiration wasn't found in "things". I started to find my inspiration on a deeper level by remembering my purpose.

Sometimes, we have to get out of his and our own way, in order to see what we need to see. I needed to move past the pain of 2020 so that I can embrace the joy that was waiting for me in 2021.

  • Episode 12 A Matter of Discipline
    Dec 1 2020

Welcome to BEING YOU 365 Podcast.

Episode 12 is an inspirational conversation with Germaine Roberson on the topic of "A Matter of Discipline".

A Matter of Discipline is a conversation that I had with Germaine Roberson about best practices in life and publishing his daily testimonials. Germaine has over 1,000 YOUTUBE videos where he shares his views and testimony as a legacy for his kids and uses those videos as a way to inspire others. During our conversation, we also discussed breadcrumbs to success and how we stay encouraged even when the feedback loop seems to be void.

Inspiration happens every day and sometimes we are the difference for someone to be inspired. So we must always “show up”. We need to continuously show up and do our part whether or not there ‘seems’ to be supported. Don’t let the actions or inactions of others control what you need to do.

You are enough! You must practice, daily, to be disciplined. Your ability to inspire someone may be a matter of them seeing you live your life with purpose and zeal. Our efforts won’t always be perfect because we don’t strive for perfection; but rather, we strive for progression.

  • Episode 11 Self Love
    Nov 2 2020

Welcome to being you 365 Podcast. This is an inspirational conversation on the topic of "Self-love". Self-love is the ability to hold you in high regard for your well being and happiness. Self-love is the understanding that you can love others but not give in to the peer pressure of selling yourself short for their benefit. In this conversation, I talk about the need to love ourselves more than the need to please others. I use my personal experience as a backdrop to this topic and share ways that I had to distance myself from negative people and negative experiences in order to find myself. How do you cultivate self-love? This is a question that we all have to figure out for ourselves, but it starts with understanding what your triggers are. Why do you seek the acceptance of others? What is it about you, that you feel is lacking? How do you begin the journey of self-discovery in order to love yourself?
