About this listen
Back at the Trailer is where two rodeo moms pull up a chair for real conversations about raising kids in the rodeo world—the wins, tough lessons, long drives, big dreams, horses, parenting, money, and all the chaos in between. We don’t always have the same perspective, and we definitely don’t have all the answers. Expect honest conversations, plenty of laughs, occasional guests, and stories every rodeo family will recognize. Whether you’re just getting started or have been hauling down the road for years, pull up a chair. We’ll meet you back at the trailer.Toni Simon

  • CL & Cashe Turner | Back at the Trailer Ep. 10
    Nov 3 2026

What happens when two former rodeo competitors become rodeo parents, and one of them takes on the responsibility of helping grow the next generation of roughstock athletes?

This week, Cashe and CL Turner join us at the trailer for a conversation about family, competition, and the future of youth rodeo.

With Cashe's background in goat tying and breakaway roping and CL's experience as a bull rider and Oklahoma Junior High School Rodeo Event director, they've got plenty of stories and perspectives to share. Now, as parents to Myles and Ainsley, they're navigating the rodeo world from the other side of the arena fence.

We talk about raising kids with different strengths, the mental toughness it takes to ride bulls, the declining numbers in youth roughstock, and why it's so important to have people willing to invest their time in the next generation.

Of course, we get into the parenting side of it all, too, because raising rodeo kids is a whole adventure of its own!

  • Less Griping, More Helping | Back the Trailer Ep. 9
    Oct 27 2026

It’s easy to point out what went wrong from behind a screen—but rodeos don’t run on Facebook comments.

We’re talking about one of our biggest frustrations: parents who are quick to criticize online but slow to step up when there’s work to be done. Rodeos depend on volunteers, and being part of an association means doing more than showing up when it’s time for your kid to compete.

This conversation may step on a few toes, but our message is simple: less griping, more helping.

  • We let our kids on podcast | Back at the Trailer Ep. 8
    Oct 20 2026

We talk about them all the time, so it only seemed right that they should be our first guests—and finally get the chance to tell us everything we’ve said about them is wrong. They join us at the trailer to talk about rodeo from their point of view—the pressure, friendships, horses, parents, and what life on the road is really like when you’re 14 years old. It’s fun, honest, and maybe a little dangerous to hand our own children microphones. Pull up a chair and meet the kids who made us rodeo moms in the first place!
