Guest host Randy delivers another Boomers on the Edge classic, sharing a wild story from the early 1980s when he and his friend Herm worked as busboys at a restaurant with a very unusual past—a former funeral home. The setting alone sets the mood, with old “viewing rooms” transformed into elegant dining rooms, each with its own fancy name.

When a rodent is spotted scurrying through the main dining room, management quietly dispatches Randy and Herm on a top-secret mission: locate the mouse, eliminate the problem, and—most importantly—do it without alarming the guests.

What follows is a chaotic, laugh-out-loud chase that turns into pure Boomers on the Edge mayhem. A classic episode packed with nostalgia, comedy, and just the right amount of disaster.

Boomers on the Edge takes a wild ride back to the 1980s as Kenn, Craig, and Ron relive some truly terrifying boating experiences on Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River. Each of the Buds shares a tale of danger that proves one universal truth: trouble on the water almost always starts when you trust someone else to be in charge.

Kenn recalls his days on the college rowing team, when a distracted coxswain nearly steered them straight into a barge. To this day, nobody knows what he was staring at.

Craig tells the story of a fishing trip gone wrong after a friend invites him onto a tiny 15-foot boat that had absolutely no business being on Lake St. Clair or the Detroit River—especially when a massive freighter nearly sucks them under.

Ron shares his now-legendary Sea-Doo disaster: invited out by a neighbor on a stormy day, he finds himself stranded in open water with a dead Sea-Doo, an approaching thunderstorm, and lightning closing in. Should he stay on the Sea-Doo or jump in the water? The rescue only gets stranger when they rush to shore—right into a condo complex—where they take shelter on a stranger’s porch…until the door opens and a robe-clad man who looks like he stepped out of a 1970s porno invites them inside.

It’s a dangerous, hilarious, and unforgettable boat ride down memory lane.

Another bizarre set of tales from Boomers on the Edge.

  • Towel Snaps & Open Mics
    Jan 19 2026

More outrageous locker room stories from the 1970s—when it was a different era and the rules of mischief were, let’s say, flexible. Fan-favorite “California Beautiful,” the school track star from Episode 3, makes a triumphant return and once again wreaks havoc on an unsuspecting coach.

Having learned well from seniors like California Beautiful, chaos quickly follows. Craig enthusiastically “welcomes” the new freshman athletes with classic locker room towel-snapping, herding them into the infamous towel cage as hilarity erupts.

Then comes one of the Bud’s most legendary stories—the story of all stories. During a track meet, Craig locks himself inside the announcer’s booth, cranks the volume to maximum (so loud that even nearby baseball games can hear), and begins providing his own wildly inappropriate play-by-play. His colorful and over-the-top commentary—especially about the famously self-promoting pole vaulter “Glom”—sends the crowd into uncontrollable laughter while the coaching staff reacts in absolute horror.

Described by Ron as one of the funniest things he’s ever witnessed, total chaos breaks out as the coaching staff scrambles to shut it down and chases Craig around the venue.

A true Boomers on the Edge classic.
