This moment is so special to me, because I remember not knowing what I was going to do after graduation. I didn't know what path to take and felt extremely lost. Less than 10 years later, I've accomplished more than some ever do in a full lifetime and tonight I'm being recognized for it. I have been hearing this phrase and concept of "de-centering men" for a while now, and a thread I stumbled across yesterday had me do some research on what that actually means and what the movement is about. By definition, I'm all for it! However, the way I'm seeing it be used and weaponized on social media is an absolutely not. I give my juicy thoughts on the continued conversation around the dying tv industry and the host of the show, NFL star, Cam Newton. Lastly, I discuss the viral clip that is quickly spreading about Michael Jordan after making history as the first Black NASCAR team owner to win the Daytona 500!

In today’s Brain Squeeze episode, I’m breaking down All-Star Weekend in LA! From the early start times and empty seats, to the lackluster dunk contest that had people saying “cancel it altogether.”

Were we just more impressed as kids? Or have the standards quietly left the building?

I get into why I think the issue runs deeper — from stars not participating in the dunk contest, to the loss of rite-of-passage moments, to the shift from love of the game to protecting the brand. And yes… we’re talking about whether the NBA is slowly losing some of the prestige that once made it feel untouchable. Get into these juicy thoughts!

Cheese curds are NOT Milwaukee culture and I said what I said! Y'all are not about to argue with me about Milwaukee culture during Black History Month lol.

This week I was invited on a panel to speak about the Black Press. Ahead of the panel, we watched the documentary, "Voices of The Black Press: Soldiers without Swords," and then had a talkback. I left the event feeling so honored to be a Journalist and was inspired to talk about it here.

From needing more representation in rooms, controlling our narrative, and the responsibility we hold to tell our stories, it's such a layered conversation.
