  • Building Secure Al in Canada | Aidan Gomez and Joëlle Pineau
    Nov 1 2026

Who builds the Al we depend on, how it is developed and where Canadian talent can grow are questions that matter beyond the technology sector.

Minister Evan Solomon speaks with Cohere's Aidan Gomez and Al researcher Joëlle Pineau about building trustworthy Al, turning research into opportunity and what Canada needs to compete globally while maintaining the capacity to make its own choices.

    🇨🇦

  • Building Sovereign AI Together with Karsten Wildberger | Building What's Next Ep. 3
    Oct 3 2026

Building What's Next is a new series of conversations about how Canada can lead in the age of AI — responsibly, confidently and on our own terms.

Sovereignty isn't just a buzzword — it's something you have to build, and fast.

For this episode of my new podcast, recorded at the All In conference in Montreal, I sat down with Karsten Wildberger, Germany's Federal Minister for Digital Affairs and State Modernisation, to discuss what Canada and Germany have built together in just one year through the Sovereign Technology Alliance, why trust between allies matters as much as trust in the technology itself, and how two democracies are choosing to build AI on their own terms.

At the All In conference, Canada and Germany announced the merger of Cohere and Aleph Alpha into the largest AI company outside the US and China, alongside a combined $300 million investment in Yoshua Bengio's LoiZéro to build safer, more reliable AI.
