  • The Joy of Remaining - John 15:9-11
    Oct 25 2026

We often think of obedience as duty and joy as pleasure, but Jesus brings these two ideas together in a remarkable way. In John 15:9–11, Christ calls His followers to remain in His love by keeping His commandments, promising that His joy will be in them and that their joy will be full.

In this message from our Remain series, we consider the incredible depth of Christ's love, how obedience strengthens our fellowship with Him, and why genuine Christian joy is found in walking faithfully with God. Obedience is not how we earn God's love; it is our response to the love He has already demonstrated through the cross.

Even when obedience is difficult or costly, believers can trust that God's commands are good and that lasting joy comes through communion with Him. As we remain in Christ's love, we experience a foretaste of the perfect joy awaiting us in His presence for eternity.

  • Why We Must Remain - John 15:1-8
    Oct 18 2026

What does it really mean to abide in Christ? And how can we know if our lives are producing the spiritual fruit Jesus calls us to bear?

In John 15:1–8, Jesus describes Himself as the true vine, His Father as the vinedresser, and His followers as the branches. Just as a branch cannot produce fruit apart from the vine, we cannot experience genuine spiritual growth apart from Christ.

In this message, we examine the Father's ongoing work of pruning and sanctification, the difference between outward religion and genuine faith, and the importance of remaining connected to Christ through His Word, prayer, worship, and fellowship.

Discover why spiritual fruitfulness is not primarily about doing more for Jesus, but about becoming more like Him—and how that transformation brings glory to God and assurance to His people.

  • Ready Obedience - Philemon v. 20-25
    Oct 12 2026

Knowing what God requires and actually living it out are often two very different things. As we conclude our study of Philemon, we're reminded that the gospel is meant to transform more than our understanding—it should change our hearts, desires, and actions.

In his final appeal, Paul challenges Philemon to respond to Onesimus with willing obedience rooted in love. Rather than simply meeting the minimum requirement, believers are called to reflect the generous love and grace of Christ in every area of life.

Yet this kind of obedience isn't accomplished through willpower alone. It requires continual dependence on God's grace, often experienced through the prayers, encouragement, and accountability of fellow believers.

Ultimately, the gospel doesn't just change what we believe. It changes how we live, how we love others, and who we become.
