  • Is Jealousy Bad?
    Oct 14 2021

In the first part of this episode, Talethea describes her trip to Saint Louis, where she spent a weekend with the ladies from the Fixin’ Crowns Book Club. They visited some amazing places, did some crazy things, tried some good food, and had a wonderful weekend. Listen to her tips and recommendations. The featured spectacular woman of the week is Alice Martin. To learn more about her, listen to episode 17, where she was Talethea’s guest.

In the second part of this episode, Talethea ponders about jealousy and envy. We all deal with it to a degree. But is jealousy bad? Do we want to be jealous? Do we want to feel resentment, bitterness, or hostility towards anybody because they have something we do not have? Is it possible to want something someone else has without feeling bad about it? Join the discussion and share your thoughts about that.

    Episode Highlights

05:25 - When we go on these trips, we try to stay at the same hotel.

24:40 - Check us out - you can find the Fixin’ Crowns Book Club on Facebook.

51:50 - Brainstorming - what do you do to help yourself to get over feeling envious or jealous?

  • More Than Just Jumping a Rope with Pamela Robinson
    Sep 23 2021

In this episode, Talethea introduces Pamela Robinson and the 40+ Double Dutch Club she has started. Pamela started the Club in May of 2016, and the Club has grown to a nationwide Double Dutch movement since. At first, they met twice a week in summer. When they started to grow, the members wanted to meet during wintertime also. Now they are meeting indoors and outdoors throughout the year. According to Pamela, 40+ Double Dutch Club is so much more than having something fun to do. It is beneficial not only for their physical health but also for their emotional and spiritual health.

If you want to start a 40+ Double Dutch sub-club, inbox Pamela on Facebook and she will let you know how to start a group.

    Episode Highlights

10:24 - At our age, we’re always looking for ways to work out, but a lot of us do not really like working out. But we like to jump Double Dutch, so you’re now working out. But what is surprising are the bonds that have formed.

13:33 - It just shows the power of God and the fact that God can bring so many women together over a Double Dutch rope. But that’s what He used to bring us all together.

18:30 - It is never too late to follow your dream. It is never too late to find a new passion.

20:37 - One of my goals is to show women that, no matter what your age is, you can still embrace your natural beauty.

27:07 - I think that men go through a midlife crisis. But a lot of women experience a midlife crossroads. What I do next can be even bigger and better than what I did for the first part of my life.

  • Fighting for Your Limitations
    Sep 16 2021

In this episode, Talethea introduces a new segment of the Chapter Next Podcast: Featured spectacular woman for the week. This week it is Symone Groover. Listen to episode 10, to find out more about her and the Fixin’ Crowns Book Club she started about a year ago.

The subject of this episode is fighting for your limitations. According to Talethea, our limitations prevent us from succeeding and living out our dream. So, why do we fight for them? Where are those thoughts coming from? How to deal with them? What is your definition of success? Listen to Talethea as she dives in, asking those questions and giving some tips on how to stop fighting for those limitations. Remember - you are the only thing that is holding you back. In the Brainstorming segment, Talethea shares the answer to the previous question and asks the next one.

    Episode Highlights

06:53 - The only reason limitations work is because we are fighting for them.

09:12 - Even if you cannot do that the way they suggested, it could be a start. It could be the first step that you take to find the solution that you need.

15:11 - It is a mind shift. Instead of defending this limitation, start focusing on a solution. You have to do it. The mind shift has to come from you.

22:55 - You have to define your definition of success. You cannot let someone else do it for you.

30:56 - Brainstorming. The question is from a woman from a Facebook group for people that try to get their finances in order - How to go back to school for free?
