Chords on Fire Episode 2 features guest Miles Patzer, lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the band HOSTS in Milwaukee, WI. As is stated right away in full transparency, host Tyson Allison is also in the band HOSTS (lead guitarist), and the two bandmates talk about the new album, "Wade Low" and the band's origin story in Nashville, TN when Miles attended college at Belmont U and received a degree in Music Business. They also walk through Miles interning at indie distributor 30 Tigers as well as Brendon Benson's (Raconteurs/Jack White) boutique record label. They discuss past HOSTS albums, their constant producer Drew Long, and Miles deciding to return to Milwaukee and gather a new lineup and start playing shows. The struggle between a career in music and a career in the restaurant/bar business, starting a family, and the disappointing state of the current music industry are covered, as well as songwriting influences, the thrill of playing big local festivals like Summerfest, and the E.Q. (Everybody Questions) segment returns for Miles to give his answers on Milwaukee hot spots and personal music opinions. The episode closes with Miles giving a solo acoustic performance of the new song, "Sidelines". As always, you can also watch the video podcast of this interview on the Chords on Fire YouTube channel as well! Thank you for listening!
