We've started the back 9 of the Podcast Series, and the Final 1500 songs of the Top 3000 countdown. Michael and Janet Jackson each have Top 5 where one is alright, and the other is most decidedly...not. A #1 hit where the lead singer didn't want to release 'cause it sounded too stupid, a Double-Sided smash from funk royalty, and the one-hit wonder that kept Thriller chart-toppers from going back-to-back at #1.

Our special segment is on follow-up songs, the second song of a smash album or a dynamite debut hit. Some fared well, some not so much. We dive into that fun topic!

A huge contingent of songs from the 90's Shaddoe Stevens era make up this set, as well as hits by the most recognizable stars. One such hit from 1988 felt like a longest title contest with two other songs on the charts at the same time, and one hit from 1988 was part one of the biggest #1 soundtracks of the decade.

5 #1 hits, including an English duo that likes to shake their little toosh. And the most famous phone number of the rock era (and it's NOT Beechwood). And a roll call of favorite songs that feature a number in the title.

We also dive into the songs that are still remaining on the countdown. What's left? Which artists still have the most songs, What years? What peak positions?

This is a special bonus episode where I generate a montage of my favorite songs, counted down from 100 to 1. All genres (except country, I just can't with country), all eras from as early as the 1930's and as late as the 2020's.

Some have charted, a lot of #1 songs of the year!

Some are quite obscure, but very interesting.

A lot of big names like Led Zeppelin, Prince, The Rolling Stones, Peter Gabriel, Daryl Hall & John Oates, 2pac and Fleetwood Mac.

And it's interactive! Come to the Facebook Group and guess the songs!

Episode #75 (Season 2, Episode 25) discusses songs #1520-#1501, as we inch closer and closer to the #1 song in Billboard History. Artists featured include:

| The Allman Brothers Band
| Rihanna
| The Isley Brothers

| Johnny Rivers
| 2pac
| The Black Eyed Peas

As we approach the halfway point of this Top 3000 countdown, we hit the final 20 songs in the first half, and a LOT of slow hits, some which I call 'Schmaltz Pop'. Listeners give their thoughts on the most dramatic love ballad that hit Top 40, but will it equal this podcast's entrants? We have Billy Joel's first #1 hit, 2pac's only #1 hit (actually 2 of them), and a CLASSIC 80's song that was part of a hit musical and also hit #3. And one of the great psychedelic gospel one-hit wonders. Yes, it's THAT song.

And a nice little summary on the first 75 episodes. If you've listened to all of them, thank you so much.

| Styx
| Three Dog Night
| The Rascals
| Marvin Gaye
| Lil Jon
| John Denver
| Michael Jackson
| Aerosmith

I call this the 'comfort food' podcast episode as this might be an all-timer with regards to well-known songs by well-known artists. We have a #1 hit from one of the greatest guitarists of all time and another one from a 70's teen idol. The greatest charted hit in the career of Aerosmith. Several 80's all-time classics that will get your foot tappin', and a song the Pointer Sisters changed the title after the popularity of another song earlier that same year. And a song that was recorded by Elvis, but the COVER hit #1!!

We also have a nice discussion on popular songs that are HATED by some of our listeners. Some surprising ones, too!

A nice array from all different eras, including a hit from the very first year of the Hot 100 (1958) and the very last year of the cutoff line (2022), and so many in-between. Including LOTS of Janet Jackson, 3 to be exact. We have what might be the greatest funk hit of the 1990's, and an 80's #1 classic that was re-made 20 years later into another classic. And some sweet sexy Barry White as dessert.

Our special segment is an In Memorium to the artists we've lost since this podcast countdown started, including the late great Dolly Parton.

This is a HUGE set of songs for 80's lovers, including all of the big names like Prince, Heart and Cyndi Lauper. In that group includes our 2nd #1 hit from the 80's on this countdown, as they're gonna finally start trickling in. We have a very fun coincidence involving one of the great 70's bands in Billboard History, and one of the great alternative 90's hits from one of the most popular alternative bands of all time. 17 of the 20 songs in this set are between the years 1977-1994 so if it's your time period, you're going to love this.
