Peter did not respond with panic, but rather with reminders of the promises of God. Before he identifies the threat, he anchors his people in what is already and irrevocably true — that through the knowledge of Jesus Christ, God has already granted his people everything they need for life and godliness. Everything. The foundation he lays here is one that no false teacher, no cultural pressure, and no personal failure can erode.

Pastor Steve Lindenmeyer preaches from John 3:16-21 on Easter Sunday as we wrap up our Born Again series.

On Good Friday, we reflected on the crucifixion of Jesus and what that means for our redemption today. But the reality of true Christian faith is incomplete without the resurrection of Jesus. Three days after Christ’s death on the cross, he rose again. In this mighty act of sovereign power, Jesus Christ defeated sin and death once and for all, and this victory is available to everyone who believes in Jesus, the risen Savior of humanity. On Easter Sunday, we celebrate this truth of redemption and reconciliation, praising God for all he has done.

The Friday before Easter is known as Good Friday. This day, we remember the crucifixion of Jesus, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. It is a time of reflection on Christ's sacrifice to cover our sin as fallen humanity, unable to save ourselves, and therefore in need of a perfect redeemer to make us right before a holy God.
