  • S3E15 Intentionally Grounded through Yoga & Holistic Coaching with Alicia Wilford
    Oct 8 2024
I am so excited to have your yoga teacher’s favorite yoga teacher on the show, Alicia Wilford. I love taking Alicia’s yoga classes because of how she makes you feel motivated and seen throughout the flow. She has created such a beautiful community within her classes. It is not uncommon to see yogis cheering each other on or catching up well after the class has ended. The way that she carries herself and the stories that she tells her students are inspiring. I learned so much about Alicia during this conversation, and it only makes me more in awe of her. Hear her story and her advice for feeling intentionally grounded now! Alicia is originally from New Orleans, based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, her intention is to help clients connect with their inner selves, encouraging them to step out of their comfort zones and explore their potential. In addition to teaching yoga, Alicia is also ordained and can officiate weddings, creating a unique and meaningful experience for couples. Whether you’re new to yoga or curious about pushing your boundaries, I’d love to connect. I hold certifications RYT of 500-hour, along with holistic coaching and personal trainer. • S3E13 A Deep Dive into Mother-Daughter Relationships with Gail Carney
    Aug 14 2024
Mother daughter relationships are not always easy. Moms have advice and knowledge that they want to pass down to their daughters and experiences that they want to protect their daughters from. Daughters may feel like they need to follow in their mother’s footsteps, or they may be craving their independence. Whatever the scenario, mother daughter relationships can be complex and multifaceted. My own mom and I have been through many different stages of our relationship. I was obsessed with my mom as a young child, and then as I got older, I craved independence. My desire to grow up too fast put a strain on my relationship with my mom during some of my middle school and high school years. In college, we were able to use the separation to find ourselves and ultimately come back together closer than ever. Since I graduated college, my mom and I have become best friends. We talk almost every day, value each other’s opinions, and enjoy doing creative projects together. Because our relationship has taken a lot of work to get to this place, we wanted to share what we’ve noticed that can put a strain on mother daughter relationships, talk about our relationship’s evolution, and offer some guidance to other mother daughter duos. I am so happy to have my mom, Gail Carney, back on the podcast for the third time! What we chat about: How my mom started making t-shirts and sweatshirtsWays to be consistent and flexible with your morning routineWhy miscommunication or lack of communication can lead to issues in mother daughter relationships How to balance wanting your kids to have a better life than you without putting too much pressure on them The pressures that society puts on kids now to be “well-rounded”How negative body image that mothers have can seriously impact their daughtersWhy moms can’t instill their fears into their daughtersWays to foster trust with your daughterWhy it’s important to know your kid’s friendsThe definition of a healthy mother daughter relationship We discuss whether or not your mom should be your best friendHow my mom and I have been able to foster such a good relationship Gail’s Social Media Accounts: Instagram: @carneyfair4 and @gailcar My Social Media Links:Instagram: @connectingthedots.podcast, @kathlyncarneywellnessTikTok: @connectingthedotspodcast, @kathlyncarneywellness YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@connectingthedots.podcast My Partners:Kathlyn Carney Wellness ServicesWhy Not Natural Affiliate Link Manski's Wellness Affiliate Link Organic Olivia Affiliate Link use code KCW for 10% offJOI (Just One Ingredient) - Delicious, Clean Label Plant Milk Bases use code KATHLYNCARNEYWELLNESS at checkout for 10% offENERGYbits® | Spirulina and Chlorella Algae use code CTD at checkout for 20% offLive PACHA Affiliate Link use code CONNECTINGTHEDOTS at checkout for 20% off *Before purchasing any supplements from our partners, please consult with your physician or nutritionist Listen to S1E11 and S2E8 to hear more from my mom, Gail!
