• May The 4th (Psalm, Proverb, & Ecclesiastes) Be With You
    May 4 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

Today, I use May 4th as an opportunity to evangelize through Scripture with a Radiating Faith solo sermon. Instead of focusing only on the familiar Star Wars phrase, I use the date as a doorway into Psalm 4, Proverbs 4, and Ecclesiastes 4. This sermon is about taking a cultural moment and redirecting it toward God, wisdom, peace, righteousness, and the eternal truth found in Scripture.

I begin with Psalm 4, where David cries out to the God of his righteousness and asks for relief from distress. I break down the Hebrew language behind ideas like God making room in narrow places, falsehood and emptiness, covenant faithfulness, emotional discipline, righteous sacrifice, and true peace. This chapter points us toward the peace only God can give, especially when the world presses in with anxiety, distraction, enemies, delusions, and false gods.

Then I move into Proverbs 4, focusing on the command to get wisdom at any cost, guard the heart, listen to instruction, avoid the path of the wicked, and walk the path of righteousness. I discuss Hebrew words connected to discipline, Torah, the inner self, wisdom, understanding, and the path of life. In a world full of social media comparison, sexualization, fear, anxiety, hatred, and constant distraction, Proverbs 4 reminds us that wisdom is not casual information but life-giving instruction from God.

Finally, I close with Ecclesiastes 4, a sober reflection on oppression, envy, meaningless toil, loneliness, companionship, wisdom, and the vapor-like nature of popularity and achievement. I discuss the Hebrew concept of hevel, the fleeting mist of life under the sun, and how so much of modern ambition is driven by comparison instead of calling. Psalm 4 gives us peace in pressure, Proverbs 4 gives us wisdom for the path, and Ecclesiastes 4 gives us clarity about striving without God. May the fourth be with you—not the force, but the peace of Psalm 4, the wisdom of Proverbs 4, and the sober clarity of Ecclesiastes 4.

  • Observing, Interpreting, & Applying 1 Samuel 1: Redemption Narratives In The Bible
    May 3 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

Today, I continue the Radiating Faith ministry sub-series with a solo sermon centered on 1 Samuel 1, the story of Hannah’s sorrow, prayer, surrender, and the birth of Samuel. I begin by sharing how God repeatedly placed Samuel in front of me throughout the week through my college assignment, my conversation with Samuel Kihara on The Bible Podcast, and the Ripples To Waves Gala hosted by Hadassah’s Hope. This episode focuses on how the Holy Spirit can guide us toward Scripture when God is trying to teach us something, especially when the same passage, theme, or message keeps appearing in our lives.

In this sermon, I read and break down the first chapter of 1 Samuel, exploring Hannah’s barrenness, Peninnah’s cruelty, Elkanah’s response, Eli’s misunderstanding, and Hannah’s vow to dedicate her son to the Lord. I discuss how Hannah’s suffering reveals the painful reality of living in a fallen world, where personal hardship is often made worse by the sins and cruelty of others. I also examine how infertility, rivalry, broken worship environments, and human weakness all appear in this passage while God is preparing to bring forth Samuel as a righteous servant in a corrupt generation.

I also connect Hannah’s story to the larger biblical narrative of surrender, sacrifice, redemption, and God sending light into darkness. Rather than simply removing darkness, God often raises up faithful people within it. I discuss the parallels between Hannah surrendering Samuel to the Lord, Abraham’s willingness to surrender Isaac, Mary’s role in the life of Yeshua, and God giving His Son for the redemption of humanity. This sermon also reflects on Job, Jonah, Jeremiah, Matthew 16:24, and the repeated biblical theme that our lives, our desires, and even our answered prayers ultimately belong to God.

Toward the end of the episode, I challenge listeners to reflect on how to respond to suffering, how to avoid multiplying someone else’s pain, and how to become a Samuel in corrupt environments. Whether the darkness appears in churches, ministries, podcasts, families, schools, or culture, the question is not only how we avoid corruption, but how we become faithful lights within it. I also connect this message to the work of Hadassah’s Hope and the women they serve, especially those healing from trafficking, sexual violence, domestic violence, and deep wounds of worthlessness, reminding listeners that true worth and freedom are found in Christ.

    Apr 30 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

Today, I sit down with Shā Sparks for a reunion episode after recently reconnecting at Military Creator Con. Ms. Sparks is an author, coach, speaker, and podcaster, who helps purpose-driven entrepreneurs and business owners connect deeper with their mission while learning how to use artificial intelligence without losing human interaction. In this conversation, Ms. Sparks shares how her work has shifted from turning trauma into treasure toward helping business owners identify blind spots, build systems, and use AI as a practical tool instead of something to fear.

Ms. Sparks explains how she helps clients create AI clones, agents, custom GPTs, and business documents that reflect who they are, what they believe, and how they operate. We discuss how AI can help entrepreneurs notice procrastination, distraction, self-doubt, and patterns that quietly hold them back. I also break down the importance of discipline, accountability, time management, real rest, and taking breaks away from digital distractions in a world where entrepreneurs are constantly pulled in multiple directions.

We also get into Ms. Sparks’s journey as an author and podcaster. She shares the story behind her first book, How To Get Your Voice Back, the role faith played in her writing process, and how losing her parents helped shape her desire to preserve people’s stories through podcasting. Ms. Sparks discusses the importance of legacy, audience connection, and creating conversations that serve the listener, while I reflect on my own podcasting journey, reaching 300 episodes, building cadence, avoiding burnout, and choosing quality over chasing numbers.

Toward the end of the episode, we talk about public speaking, live audiences, creator conferences, and the growing opportunities for podcasters, veterans, entrepreneurs, and purpose-driven voices to step onto new stages. Ms. Sparks also shares who should reach out to her for coaching, including small business owners, creators, and entrepreneurs who are ready to use AI for accountability, strategy, and business growth while staying rooted in purpose and human connection.

  • Hopelessness To Happiness: Breaking Negative Emotion Habits & Forming Positive Ones
    Apr 25 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

Today, I sit down with Matt O'Neill to discuss happiness, negative emotions, gratitude, forgiveness, and how people can reprogram their thought patterns to live with more peace and purpose. Mr. O'Neill shares how his childhood, his father’s negativity, abandonment, shame, and later struggles with substance abuse shaped his passion for helping others understand emotional patterns and move out of destructive moods.

In this conversation, Mr. O'Neill breaks down what he identifies as eight primary negative emotions, including shame, guilt, hopelessness, pride, and desire. We discuss how people-pleasing, perfectionism, overwhelm, and bitterness can quietly drain a person’s happiness, while also exploring how these emotions can be recognized, challenged, and replaced with healthier mental and spiritual habits.

We also talk about the power of gratitude, boundaries, and reducing negative inputs from social media, the news, and draining relationships. Mr. O'Neill explains practical ways to build gratitude into daily life, including starting the morning with thankfulness, writing down new things to appreciate, and using gratitude as a long-term habit rather than a one-time exercise.

Throughout the episode, I connect Mr. O'Neill’s insights to military life, suicide prevention, addiction, family struggles, faith, and the importance of staying grounded in hope. We discuss how positivity and negativity both create chain reactions, why happiness requires daily effort, and how love and forgiveness are essential parts of becoming healthier, stronger, and more present for others.

Mr. O'Neill also shares the purpose behind his book and his work as a happiness coach, explaining how he helps people move out of negative thinking loops, addiction patterns, and dependence on external validation. This episode is a practical and meaningful conversation for anyone struggling with hopelessness, emotional exhaustion, people-pleasing, resentment, or the desire to build a happier life.

  • Samson's Death: What Most People Get Wrong About It
    Apr 24 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

Today, I take a closer look at the death of Samson and the part of his story that many people overlook. Samson is often remembered for his strength, his hair, Delilah, and his final act against the Philistines, but his ending is more than a dramatic collapse of a building. His death should have us examine calling, compromise, pride, consequences, repentance, and the mercy of God even after failure.

In this solo sermon, I walk through Samson’s life as a man set apart by God, yet constantly pulled toward his own desires. His strength was never truly in his hair alone; his hair represented the covenant and calling that connected him to the Lord. When Samson drifted from that calling, the real tragedy was not just that he lost his physical strength, but that he became spiritually blind before he ever lost his eyesight.

I also discuss what Samson’s final prayer reveals about dependence on God. At the end of his life, chained between the pillars, Samson no longer stands as a man showing off his own power. He is a broken man crying out to the Lord for strength one more time. His death reminds us that God can still work through people who have failed, but it also warns us not to treat grace casually or mistake giftedness for obedience.

This sermon is a reminder that strength without surrender can become destruction, and calling without character can lead to collapse. Samson’s story challenges us to look honestly at the areas where we are compromising, drifting, or relying on ourselves instead of God. Even in tragedy, his life points us back to the seriousness of sin, the mercy of God, and the need to live faithfully before the final moment comes.

  • Military Creator Con Commentary, Military Mental Health, & Some Not-So-Sea Stories
    Apr 24 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

Today, I sit down with Imani Mclemore to break down my experience at the first-ever Military Creator Con and what this event says about the future of military creativity, veteran entrepreneurship, and community building. We unpack what stood out most from the conference, from the speakers and networking to the events, sponsors, and the growing momentum behind a space designed for veterans, active duty members, and creators to connect.

Throughout this conversation, Ms. Mclemore helps guide a broader discussion about military identity, why so many service members lose touch with their hobbies, and how the daily demands of military life can drain people mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I also talk about why conferences like this matter, especially for veterans transitioning into civilian life, building businesses, launching podcasts, writing books, and trying to rediscover purpose outside of uniform.

We also get into some of the deeper issues that continue to affect the military community, including leadership culture, underappreciation, career translation, suicide prevention, addiction recovery, and the need for stronger outreach to active duty members before they hit a crisis point. This episode highlights the importance of giving veterans practical resources, creative outlets, and real support systems that help them rebuild their lives with direction and dignity.

Along the way, we also share a few "sea stories" and laughs, from military haircuts to hair dye at Walmart.

  • Why People Give Up After Their Midlife Point: Mapping Out The Future With Jody Brooks
    Apr 14 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

Today, I sit down with Jody Brooks to talk about childhood trauma, identity, and what it really takes to rebuild your life when everything stops making sense. Mr. Brooks shares how growing up through divorce, abandonment, alcoholism, violence, and emotional instability shaped the way he saw himself and the world around him. We discuss how people-pleasing can become a survival strategy, how childhood wounds can quietly follow someone into adulthood, and why so many high achievers are still carrying unresolved pain beneath the surface.

We also get into depression, suicidal despair, shame, and the kind of human connection that can change the course of a life. Mr. Brooks opens up about the darkest points of his journey, the long road of recovery, and how forgiveness helped him make peace with his father before his death. I also add to the conversation by breaking down how parental absence can fuel a lifelong chase for validation, why so many people seek approval from the wrong places, and how those patterns show up in everyday life.

A major part of this episode focuses on midlife and why so many people begin to feel lost, overwhelmed, or emotionally empty in their thirties, forties, and fifties. Mr. Brooks explains why midlife often feels like grief, why identity starts to unravel, and why this season can actually be an invitation to recalculate your direction instead of surrendering to decline. We talk about the “life bus,” the baggage people carry into the next season, and why success often comes from stopping what no longer serves you instead of simply doing more.

  • Overcoming Academic Hardships & Creating Your Edge With Coach Willie Blake
    Apr 8 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

Today, I sit down with Coach Willie Blake to talk about dyslexia, neurodivergence, and what it really looks like to stop seeing a diagnosis as a disadvantage. Coach Blake shares how being diagnosed as a child affected the way he saw himself, interacted with others, and moved through school while carrying the weight of feeling different. This conversation covers the emotional side of dyslexia, the labels people carry, and the importance of changing how we define ourselves.

We get into the bullying, isolation, and internalized shame that can come with learning differently, especially when those struggles begin at a young age. Coach Blake explains how dyslexia is far more than simply mixing up letters and numbers, and how it impacts processing, communication, and confidence. I also talk about how what we hear in childhood shapes the way we view ourselves later in life, and why support, listening, and honest conversation matter so much for anyone facing a hidden struggle.

This episode also explores growth, discipline, and the power of small steps. Coach Blake shares how personal development, reading, writing, and speaking begin to transform his life, even when those things once feel far out of reach. We discuss how real progress is often built through small daily wins, how acknowledging a challenge is the first step toward working with it, and why asking yourself what you truly want is essential if you want to build a life with direction and purpose.
