He explores the path to effective crankiness in "A Grownup Guide to Effective Crankiness: The CrankaTsuris Method."

Steven is the award-winning creator of the beloved Snoodles Universe—a laugh-out-loud world where silly ideas spark big solutions, and joy is always just a page away. Hinako Fujihara Hovhaness & Bill Holst, Co-Author the book- Alan Hovhaness: Unveiling One of the Great Composers of the 20th Century” after his death, Hinako Fujihara Hovhaness (1932–2022) was the wife of the late composer Alan Hovhaness and a devoted advocate for his legacy. A trained coloratura soprano and founder of the Hovhaness-Fujihara Music Company, she played an instrumental role in managing and promoting her husband’s work. Hinako served as executive producer on over a dozen recordings of Hovhaness’s music and helped establish his lasting presence through collaborations with leading classical music labels such as Delos, Telarc, and Naxos.

She began writing “Alan Hovhaness: Unveiling One of the Great Composers of the 20th Century” after his death, drawing from decades of shared history, performance, and artistic partnership. The memoir, completed posthumously, was co-authored by her son, Bill Holst, who now serves as the family archivist and curator of the Hovhaness legacy. • Barry Maher - Surviving Brain Cancer and Hearing Lady Gaga
    May 2 2026

Barry Maher may be the only horror novelist who’s ever appeared in the pages of Funeral Service Insider. In his misspent youth, his articles were featured in perhaps a hundred different publications and, in order to eat, he held nearly that many different jobs. Sometimes he lived on the beach. Not in a house on the beach. On the beach with the sand and the seagulls.

After a sentence with a Fortune 100 company, he started speaking professionally. He told stories to audiences across the country and around the world: his client list a Who’s Who of multi-national corporations. You may have seen Barry on The Today Show, CNN, CBS or CNBC, or read his Slightly Off-Kilter syndicated newspaper column.

On the downside, he’s actually been incarcerated twice. Once for not making a left hand turn out of a left hand turn lane, and once for aiding and abetting a loiterer. He’s deeply repentant.
