  • Considering content management and engagement with Nick Coffman | Ep 44
    Jan 12 2026

Dad Dialogue is back after a nice long Christmas holiday! I hope you are all ready for the new year and looking ahead to all that 2026 will bring. Joining Laurence today is Nick Coffman. Nick is a dad to two children, soon to be three! We discuss his currently feelings about the upcoming baby and how those feelings compare to the previous arrivals. Nick hosts two podcasts and writes for a gaming and tech satirical website, Hard Drive.

As someone who spends a decent amount of time within the video game and tech world, we spend some time discussing the impact of video games and screen time on our children and possible best practices in terms of engaging with the hobbies and interests of our kids.

  • Being an Estranged Father with Hans Bentvelzen | Ep 43
    Dec 1 2025

On today’s episode of the Dad Dialogue podcast, we have a story that is a little different to a lot of the other stories we have featured before. Today’s guest is Hans who has one adult son, with whom he has somewhat lost connection. Hans shares how his opinion on fatherhood has shifted over the years and how when he first became a dad, it was probably something he didn’t really want. It was a fascinating conversation and I hope you enjoy.

Following the appearance of his co-host, Kristopher, last week, John Dalrymple joins Laurence today for the latest episode of Dad Dialogue. John is the father to six children, yes six! In the episode we will hear him share about the practicality of that and how he has grown as a father alongside his family growing as well.

John is a pastor based at a church in California so in the episode he shares a little about the process of deciding to become a pastor, what life looked like whilst balancing studying, serving, becoming a dad and supporting a wife. • Striving to be a Devotional Dad with Kristopher Schaal of Growing Fathers
    Nov 3 2025

Joining Laurence today is Kristopher Schaal from the Growing Fathers blog & podcast! Kristopher has a big heart for equipping fathers and discussing fatherhood so I was delighted he agreed to come on the show.

As a father of 5 children ranging from ages 12 down to 2, Kristopher definitely has his hands full with the busyness of meeting the needs of kids and raising them. He shares in the episode some of the insight of what life looks like with a big family, but also the heart behind and the joy he experiences through it. We also discuss how to best support a wife when they are choosing to be a stay at home mother to a big family.

At the heart of Kristopher’s fatherhood is clearly his relationship with Jesus and the important of placing a foundation on faith when building a family. We discuss the specifics of some spiritual disciplines and how best to serve our family by first of all taking care of our own spiritual requirements in our walk with Jesus.

Please do go and check out more of Kristopher at the Growing Fathers Website or the Growing Fathers Podcast.

  • International Family, Ten Year Wait, Power of Prayer with Melvin George | Ep 39
    Oct 6 2025

On the Dad Dialogue podcast this week we are honoured by an amazing story of waiting for a family, sitting down with Laurence and sharing his story is Melvin. Originally from India, Melvin and his wife live in the Netherlands and had to wait a very long 10 years to be able to grow their family with a child.

During that journey unfortunately Melvin and his wife did suffer two miscarriages, something we go into detail in the episode. You can hear that at the heart of Melvin’s journey has been his faith, we also dive into the power of prayer, trying to unpack and contextualise what it is and what it looks like, so even if you are not someone of faith, I hope you stick around to listen to our discussion about it.

  • Leading a Family During Redundancy, Taking a Baby Camping with Mário Sousa | Ep 37
    Sep 9 2025

For the 37th episode of the Dad Dialogue podcast, Laurence is rejoined by previous guest, Mario! Mario previously featured on the 7th episode of Dad Dialogue when he was a brand new father. A little over a year on, what has Mario learnt from his fatherhood journey? What challenges has he had to face?

Well, to answer that second question, unfortunately Mario lost his job not long after that first episode was released. In this episode we discuss the stresses that brought and the process he went through of prioritising his family whilst looking for something new. In addition to this, we discuss what it has been like to raise a child in a different country, as Mario is from Portugal but living in The Netherlands, as well as some of the difficulties that come with balancing family life in that situation.

Mario and his wife are avid campers so we also hear from him about the recent camping excursions he has taken his son on, if you’re thinking about doing the same with a young child, stay tuned to hear Mario’s first hand experience of what that looked like!
