HUNTRIX FANS, THIS ONE'S FOR YOU!! Today Carlye and Nicole sit down with Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan, two of the writers behind KPOP DEMON HUNTERS.

Danya and Hannah met as college freshmen and have been best friends/roommates/writing partners/co-workers/sisters/enemies/etc. ever since. The duo, most recently named to Variety’s prestigious Screenwriters to Watch for 2025 list, were just 24-years-old when they co-wrote KPOP DEMON HUNTERS, which exploded into the zeitgeist last summer – becoming Netflix’s most-watched film of all time and topping global music charts with its soundtrack. Since its release, the film has won two Golden Globe and two Critics’ Choice Awards and have earned 10 Annie Award nominations (including Best Writing – Feature) as well as five Grammy nominations. The film was also named TIME’s 2025 Breakthrough of the Year.

Up next, the duo are set to write Tim Burton’s reimagining of Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, alongside Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap, who are developing and producing. Currently, the two are taking out their original series A REALLY BAD PERSON with Legendary producing, as well as an original feature, a queer western.

Today on Daddy Dailies with talk with the creative duo behind the SXSW feature film, I REALLY LOVE MY HUSBAND. GG Hawkins (writer/director) & Madison Lanesey (actor) share how they collaborated on the film, their partnership, and offer advice for microbudget filmmaking.

GG Hawkins is a writer-director whose debut feature, I Really Love My Husband, premiered at SXSW 2025 to critical acclaim, won the first time director award at Chattanooga and best film at the Female Eye Film Festival. GG also hosts the No Film School podcast, exploring the craft of filmmaking. Madison Lanesey is an actor, comedian, writer, and director who wrote and starred in the viral short Yes, Daddy, which screened at Mammoth Film Festival, HollyShorts, and Salute Your Shorts. Carlye chats with Canadian filmmaker Ally Pankiw, an accomplished writer and director and an advocate for women and nonbinary filmmakers. A firm believer in apprenticeship, Ally shares how she aims to create more opportunities for aspiring directors.

Ally Pakiw made her TV debut with Netflix’s Feel Good, created by comic Mae Martin. She directed and executive produced the show’s first season, which was critically acclaimed as one of the best series of 2020 and boasts a "100% Fresh” score on Rotten Tomatoes. Since then, Ally has written on 2 seasons of Dan Levy’s Schitt’s Creek, directed on Hulu’s Shrill, The Great, & helmed the much lauded “Joan Is Awful” and “Common People” episodes of Netflix’s Black Mirror.

In 2024, Ally wrote, directed, and served as EP on her first film, Utopia’s I Used To Be Funny, starring Rachel Sennott. Her latest feature, Lilith Fair: Building A Mystery, made its world premiere at TIFF to rave reviews, and is currently streaming on Hulu.

Julia Meltzer's multicam spec script YOURS, MINE & PAUL'S sold to 20th Century Fox Television Studios in a competitive situation, and later to ABC with Sarah Hyland attached to star. Her second pilot MARRIED WITH FRIENDS sold in the room to CBS and she has since written for Amazon, Audible, Broadway Video, and various commercial campaigns. She currently has original TV comedy projects in development with Miramax, Shoot To Midnight (Leslye Headland), and Loudmouth (Idina Menzel), as well as an original female-driven R-rated comedy feature in development with Feigco. She is also an intuitive writing teacher, coach, and cheerleader who is passionate about helping her clients find ease, joy, and fulfillment in their unique creative processes. Her coaching has been described as “a magical drug,” “a godsend,” “perceptive as hell” and “legit brilliant.”

She shares her creative process, how she works with directors, intimacy coordinators and how she aims to create interesting characters as well as how season three will continue to explore toxic relationships in new ways. Oppenheimer was recently named one of the top 50 TV producers of 2025 in Variety’s annual TV Producers’ Impact Report . She began her career when her first screenplay “The Remains” made the 2013 Black List, after which she co-wrote the Zac Efron film “We Are Your Friends” for Working Title Films. Meaghan then wrote on AMC’s “Fear the Walking Dead,” before going on to sell her original pilot “Broken” to ABC which was made with Anna Paquin and Blair Underwood and produced by Bruna Papandrea and Reese Witherspoon. In 2018 Meaghan created and show ran her 1/2 hour dark comedy “Queen America” for Facebook Watch, starring Catherine Zeta Jones and Judith Light. She is currently in development on an original feature with Netflix, as well as various television projects under her overall deal with 20th Television.

LJ serves as the Super Hero Costume Designer and Associate Producer on Amazon’s hit shows THE BOYS and GEN V as well as the highly anticipated origin story, VOUGHT RISING. Her most recent work includes the Robots on critically acclaimed MURDERBOT as well as Specialty Characters in RED ONE. Collaborating with Director Jake Kasdan and Star Dwayne Johnson again as she did Costume Designing the smash hit “JUMANJI:WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE” and the forthcoming 3rd installment of the JUMANJI franchise. This week Carlye & Kourtney talk with Ashley Nicole Black, a two-time Emmy Award-winning writer, actress, and producer best known for her work on Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Bad Monkey, and A Black Lady Sketch Show. Ashley began writing for television in 2016 on Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. Now, she is currently working on Ma 2, the sequel to the iconic horror film starring Octavia Spencer, as well as preparing to return to the writers’ room for Season 3 of Shrinking.
