Today's recording includes a preface to the story with why this event is important to me, why I am bringing this event to you, and what I hope you get from participating in it.

Today's reading introduces us to Abram and his wife, Sarai, and shares Abram's beginning travels as he is directed by God to leave his Father's family to travel to the land that God will give him and his family. We will hear about how Abram was scared for his safety when he needed to travel to Egypt and how he asked Sarai to lie for him in order to protect him.

Today we will be reading about how Abram rescued his nephew, Lot, and his family from capture. In the video I misspoke and said that Abram rescued his GRANDSON! That is NOT correct! Abram rescued his NEPHEW. We will also read about how Sarai thinks she needs to help God fulfill his promise to her to have a child, and God changed Abram and Sarai's name to reflect his fulfillment of His promises to them. Wow, that's a lot going on in today's reading!

Today's reading is from Genesis 18 and 19. We will hear about Abraham's special visitors and his braveness to ask God about saving the city of Sodom if enough good people are found within the city. We will also hear about God's kindness toward Lot's family.
