The show was widely considered one of his best in years, with many crediting his strong energy to the presence of Ginger Alden. But the night took a somber turn when, shortly after the concert, Elvis was informed by his father, Vernon, that his cousin Bobbi Mann had died from a pill overdose. The group returned to Memphis at six-thirty in the morning.
