• Facing Fear with Faith: A 9/11 Hero's Perspective with Darin Kinder
    Feb 23 2026

“Bury me in a dirty suit.”

Dan interviews Darren Kinder, a former U.S. Secret Service special agent, author of Bury Me in a Dirty Suit, and founder of Fierce Faith. Kinder shares a current discipline that anchors his days—early-morning workouts—then explains the Secret Service’s dual mission of protection and financial/electronic-crimes investigations, plus how his upbringing in Virginia, his parents’ divorce, and his mother’s renewed faith shaped his own faith and commitment to spiritual leadership in his future home.

Kinder recounts being assigned to the New York Field Office in 2001, located on the 9th and 10th floors of 7 World Trade Center, and describes his actions on September 11th. The conversation centers on courage, fear, and calling—Kinder argues courage is a daily choice built through small acts of obedience, and that purpose is found by seeking God’s will rather than comfort or an illusion of safety. He discusses discerning God’s will through Scripture, prayer, community, and Holy Spirit-led obedience, and how alignment makes it possible to move forward boldly.

  • From FCA to Global Impact: Dan Britton's Leadership Insights
    Feb 16 2026

    “Punch awkward in the face.”

Dan Britton, president of Sports Life Leadership, joins the show to talk about Christ-centered leadership in sports and the personal transition that led him to start a new ministry after retiring from Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) following 34 years of service. Britton shares his long-standing two-hour morning discipline block—Scripture, prayer, journaling, reading, and exercise—and how a recent coach helped him keep the disciplines while approaching them with more freedom, flexibility, space, and grace, including running without a phone or audio to practice silence with the Lord.

Britton recounts his upbringing as the youngest of three brothers in a disciplined, faith-filled home, his lacrosse background (including playing at the University of Delaware and professional lacrosse), and multiple moments where others spoke encouragement and “prophetic” direction over his life, including a memorable encounter at a Cracker Barrel that he believes may have involved an angel.

Today, I'm excited to welcome Amanda Spaak to the Delay the Decay podcast. After years in acute care hospital medicine, she felt called to step away from a system that often prioritizes symptom management over true healing, which led her to functional medicine focused on prevention, education, and addressing root causes. They discuss the importance of understanding metabolic health, the differences between conventional and functional medicine, and how to maintain strong bones and prevent frailty, especially in older adults. In this deeply moving episode of Delay the Decay, Dan Harty sits down with entrepreneurial couple Jeremey and Amy Houlton to unpack a story marked by courage, calling, and costly faith.
