  • EP 12: Food forests and questioning the concept of 'nature' - with Malika Cieremans
    Jan 8 2026

How can we relearn what we view as nature and as agriculture?

Our guest in this episode is Malika Cieremans, whois a dutch pioneer in the field of food forests. She has started more than 25 years ago, before 'food forest' was even a word in the dutch language. She has her own piece of land in the forest close to Bennekom and she works with education, design, knowledge and development of food forests in the Netherlands since 10 years.

In this episode we talk about our relationship to forests whilst placing them in an international context, the importance and variety of food forests and the arbitrary line between nature and agriculture that has become so powerful in legislation.
