    Rev. Dr. Fredrick Johnson, Sr., serves as senior pastor at First Genesis Baptist Church in Rochester, NY. Under his pastoral leadership, the First Genesis Baptist Church has experienced membership and spiritual growth. Dr. Johnson has participated in every facet of church ministry with a passion for evangelism, teaching, preaching, and community building.

    Dr. Johnson has years of experience in developing and leading non-profit and charity organizations with a focus on community development. His expertise in this area grew out of his first career of more than 20 years in the private sector working for multinational corporations.

    Her talk was centered on our own responsibility to be part of the fruition of "beloved community." She encouraged us to get a bit uncomfortable talking to people who were different from us-not just racially, but culturally, socioeconomically or otherwise. The goal might be to learn from new perspectives and see the real value of another human being working alongside us to become his or her best as we're doing the same. She worked through an acronym of B-E-L-O-V-E-D C-O-M-M-U-N-I-T-Y in her talk.
