When you think of IBM, do you think of those old Selectric typewriters clacking away in the secretary pool? No? Well, how about the innovator of a personal computer built like a tank but captured the hearts of so many households that much of what IBM did still resonates in computers today. International Business Machines didn't know much about the microcomputer industry back in the late 1970s but learned quickly.
