Season 4: Current Issues: Gender in Parenting, Trauma, AI in Counseling, and Social Media

In this episode, hosts Caleb Martin and Cathy Chang are joined by Josh King, former Director of Communications at Perimeter Church and current Marketing Director at an AI software company, for a thoughtful conversation about technology, faith, and discernment. Together, they explore the growing presence of AI in everyday life and counseling spaces, considering both the opportunities and concerns that come with it.

Throughout the discussion, Josh helps listeners better understand what AI is, how it can be used helpfully, and where discernment is needed. They reflect on how Scripture guides the way we approach new technology, the tension between using AI as a tool versus being shaped or controlled by it, and how fear can sometimes influence the way we respond to change. The conversation also touches on the significance of being embodied image bearers of God and how some longings beneath our use of AI may ultimately point to deeper desires that Christ wants to fulfill.

We pray this episode encourages you to thoughtfully engage technology with wisdom, discernment, and dependence on the Lord. We invite you to explore the resources section for further reflection, and if you find yourself longing for deeper connection, guidance, or support, prayerfully consider reaching out to a counselor here.
