Chris Steeves was a North Van local and a pro snowboarder for Invasion Snowboards who had a factory there. As a part of the Invasion team Chris travelled filming and taking photos, two of which wound up as cover shots!! The cover of January 1999 Transworld Snowboarding was a Scott Serfas shot from Cypress Mountain (back when they attracted world class pros with their sky chair park builds!! nudge nudge... Liam, let's get a sky chair park going again!!)

Jeff Patterson is living an incredible life in snowboarding. He has groomed park features all over the world, he has droned the Natural Selection Tour, he shot photos for mags, and he's got one of the world's best collections of vintage snowboards. Murray Siple is a Snowboard Filmmaker from the golden era of snowboarding who was based out of Vancouver and went to Emily Carr art institute. His unique films stood out and started the careers of some of the other BC film crews like Treetop. In 1996 Murray was in a car accident that left him paralyzed. Over the last 33 years he's navigated his new life in a way that can only be described as awe inspiring. His film Carts Of Darkness showcased his continued growth as a film maker and his latest project is adaptive surfing. Clayton Larson filmed for Skids and Sandbox movies, shot with legendary snowboarders during the golden years of independent snowboard movies. His life path was set the day he saw his first two snowboarding movies, Whiskey and Whiskey 2. Clayton just co-directed and edited his first full length feature documentary film, Our Kind Of Chaos. It's a deep dive into the Whiskey franchise and the lives of the people behind it, namely Sean Kearns and Sean Johnson. Our Kind Of Chaos breaks new ground thanks to the deep honesty and transparency of the people behind the Whiskey movies who had deep childhood trauma. Thank you to everyone involved with the film for bringing a deeper and more honest dialogue about childhood trauma than I've ever seen before.

Alex Lee runs the Burton store at the Snow World Mall in Shenzhen China. Snow World has the largest indoor snowboard hill in the world. I say that it's a snowboard hill because snowboarders outnumbered skiers 10 to 1 when we visited. Alex helped us navigate getting set up and then I sat with him and Frank Hao, the man behind the manufacturing of Ken Ach's Pro Standard Quick Release for Step On Bindings. This is a wild one to listen to but hopefully gives you a peak into what's happening in China around snowboarding. It really does feel like the nineties over there except that the cool snowboarders have the most unique style I've seen anywhere. I loved it. Enjoy
