In this episode I'm asking the question - is AI going to end moviemaking; is it going to wipe out filmmakers? Instead of the usual AI doomism I'm going to dig into why AI won't ever replace the essential need for human craft in telling stories with moving pictures. I'll also touch on some of the technical reasons why this all might be out of reach for a while - building a toy is one thing, but building a tool that makes good moving pictures remains hard.
