Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS all have specific cultures.  Chaplains and First Responders who choose to live a life of faith have to be on guard so the culture doesn't dilute their faith or their testimony.  Today, we discuss a few things that can help you protect your spirit in whatever culture you're in!  Join us for this edition of First On Scene!

Law Enforcement has a very unique culture.  Fire/EMS has a very unique culture.  There are both good and bad parts to these cultures. When a First Response Chaplain steps into those cultures to serve, he or she has to be very careful not to become a "cultural casualty" by compromising their faith to "fit in".  

This episode we'll look at the issue.  Next episode, we'll discuss how to avoid becoming a cultural casualty as a Chaplain (or first responder!).

This interview was originally recorded in October of 2021.  Fire Chief Ron Graham gives us his perspective on where he sees Chaplaincy going in the near future and what issues are currently weighing heavy on those in Fire/EMS service.
