World War II is such a large and engrossing conflict that few people realize that hiding within its depths was a French Civil War. For years, French fought against French as the country battled for control of its future. Would France's future lie with Nazi Germany or the Allies? Would France be able to reconcile with Britain or would they throw in with the Axis in hopes of securing a better position for itself in post-war Europe?
