Players are beginning to arrive in Fort Wayne for physicals and fitness testing but the first major winter storm of the new year has already caused some delays to the start of preseason training. Despite the delay, there is plenty of news coming out of the Fort Wayne Football Club office with more new signings and a Hall of Fame announcement about Coach Avery.

This past week Fort Wayne Football Club announced four new player signings, three of whom are defenders which we believe indicates a strong roster build with players who can not only defend well, but who have great ability to pass the ball accurately up the pitch.

This week we get to hear from one those new players. Michael Rempel joins us at the top of the hour to talk about his decision to come to Fort Wayne for their inaugural season in USL League One.

Later in the show we'll speak with Robert Kerr from Morning Kickaround about the biggest storylines in the league heading into the 2026 season.

This week was a big week for the soccer community in Fort Wayne with two historic signings. Fort Wayne native, Amelia White, signed her first professional contract early in the week with the Kansas City Current of the NWSL. Then on Friday, Fort Wayne Football Club announced Tiago Dias as their first professional player signing.

Amelia White joins us for a portion of the show to talk about her journey to the pros and her upcoming season with the Current.

The USL Players Association has yet to come to terms with league headquarters about a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) that would include a higher league minimum salary and more consistent health and wellness benefits for players across the league. Though this dispute only directly impacts USL Championship clubs at the moment, the ripples may soon be felt throughout USL League One who only has two years left of their current CBA.

The full USL League One schedule was released this past week and fans are already circling May 16 as a can't miss match with Indy Eleven coming to town for one of four USL Cup matches for Fort Wayne FC. Though the teams compete in different tiers of the USL, this match could be the birth of a future I-69 rivalry.
