• Is That You, God? It’s Me… (Intuition + Discernment Made Practical)
    Jan 22 2026

    Send us a text

Have you ever felt a gut nudge and immediately wondered, “Is that God… or is that me?”
In this episode of the Freedom Camp Podcast, we explore intuition as one of the ways God speaks and how discernment helps us respond with wisdom, not emotional urgency.

    You’ll learn:

    • A simple framework: intuition = noticing, discernment = responding
    • Why “filters” matter (roles, personality wiring, trauma responses, family dynamics, expectations, people-pleasing)
    • Three grounding checks to help you discern what you’re hearing:
      • Fruit Check (Philippians 4:8)
      • Nervous System Check (relief vs clarity)
      • Time Check (Scripture, counsel, regulation, and space)
    • A short listening exercise to practice hearing God with more clarity and trust

Want the free one-page Weekly Listening PDF? Email me at gretchenknode@gmail.com with “PDF” in the subject line.

    Journal Questions

    • What filters might be shaping what I’m hearing?
    • Is this leading me toward love, truth, humility, courage, obedience, peace… or toward control, fear, performing, panic, people-pleasing?
    • Am I deciding to get relief, or to gain clarity?
    • Do I need time, godly counsel, Scripture, and nervous system regulation before responding?
    • What did I notice during the listening exercise?
    • What patterns help me recognize God’s voice over time?

  • Discernment Learning to See Clearly When It's Loud
    Jan 15 2026

    Send us a text

In today’s episode, we’re talking about discernment, presence, and peace and what it really means to be at peace in your spirit even when your mind, body, and circumstances haven’t caught up yet.

Sometimes when we’re in a season that requires discernment, we may feel spiritually anchored, yet our nervous system is activated, our thoughts are racing, and our emotions are trying to make decisions for us just to get relief from discomfort.

In this episode, we explore how:
    • Discernment doesn’t begin with answers, it begins with presence
    • Spiritual peace doesn’t always mean emotional or physical calm
    • A regulated nervous system creates space for discernment
    • God’s peace meets us inside uncomfortable situations

We reflect on key Scriptures about discernment, including:

    Psalm 46:10
    Hebrews 5:14
    Philippians 1:9–10
    1 Kings 3
    1 John 4:1

This episode is an invitation to slow down, breathe, and let God guide your next step through peace-led clarity.

If this conversation stirred something in you, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

And if you’re craving deeper identity, resilience, and spiritual growth in real life, this is the kind of work we walk through together inside Freedom Camp. You can join the email list here https://gretchen-knode.mykajabi.com/freedom-camp-email-list

Use these for personal reflection, journaling, or prayer:

    • What are you emotionally reacting to right now?
    • What decision could you pause instead of push?
    • What feels safer — to observe or to fix?
    • Where do you sense spiritual peace, with emotional, physical, or mental tension?

  • Is This Really Who I Am… Or Just Who I Learned to Be?
    Jan 7 2026

    Send us a text

In this episode of the Freedom Camp Podcast, we explore the quiet, inherited roles many of us grew up carrying… and how they’ve shaped the way we see ourselves, respond to others, and move through the world.

    Not from blame or shame
But from compassion, clarity, and freedom.

We look at roles like fixer, peacemaker, eldest daughter, achiever, caretaker, invisible one, and explore how they may have once protected us… but now subconsciously limit who we believe we’re allowed to become.

This episode invites you to ask:

    • Is this my identity…
    • or is this just a story I learned to live inside?

Then we shift from self-observation to God-spoken identity.

    Because culture names roles.
    Family assigns responsibilities.
    Experience shapes coping.

But God names identity. God names who He created us to be.

And His voice is the one that heals, restores, and calls us forward.

We anchor this conversation in Isaiah 43, a passage of belonging, redemption, worth, and calling, and invite you to read it personally, slowly, as if God is speaking to you by name.

If you’re in a season where your lived experience feels louder than God’s truth… you are not alone. Identity healing is slow, holy work, and it rarely happens in isolation.

That’s part of why Freedom Camp exists.

Round 1 in this second year of Freedom Camp, is focused on awakening identity not the one life trained you to carry, but the one God has already spoken over you. If this work resonates and you’d like to walk it out with a community of women doing the same, you can learn more or join the waitlist through the link below.

  • What Freedom Looks Like in Real Time: A Story of How Freedom Camp has Impacted my life
    Jan 3 2026

    Send us a text

In this episode I share a real-life story the last couple weeks, that I'm still in, that is showing me, in real time, what growing in freedom is actually doing in me.

Helping one of our Great Pyrenees deliver and care for a litter of puppies has been a perfect example of the value and benefit of Freedom Camp in real time - in the middle of life. There were heat lamps, whelping box improvements, prayer, tears, and a hundred moments of “I don’t know what happens next.”

And somewhere in the middle of exhaustion, fear, responsibility, and uncertainty…

I realized I wasn’t just helping a mama dog through birth.

I was watching the fruit of my own inner growth — the kind of freedom we practice inside Freedom Camp — happening in real time.

In earlier seasons, this kind of situation would have sent me into all my old stories and habits.
    Fight-or-flight.
    Overwhelm.
    Self-pressure.
    Feeling alone in it.

But this time — even though I felt it and caught the old stories, I stayed.

I noticed what was happening in my body.
I used tools I’ve been practicing.
I asked for help instead of powering through.
Our community prayed and checked in.
    My family stood with me.

And again and again I returned to this truth:

I am not ultimately the one holding all of this.
    God is.

    My job was presence.
    Care.
    Listening.
    Obedience.
    Trust.

And that… is what freedom looks like to me.

    Not control.
    Not certainty.
    Not “doing everything right.”

But learning to stay grounded, compassionate, honest, and surrendered inside situations I cannot predict and cannot fix.

That’s the work we do in Freedom Camp.

We don’t train for a perfect life.
We grow resilience, identity, tenderness, and peace that sustain us inside real life — births, losses, stress, responsibility, and holy seasons.

If this resonates… you’re not alone.
    You belong here.

Freedom Camp doors are open through January 4 at midnight
We begin together on January 5.

  • When Favored Doesn't Feel Real
    Dec 25 2025

    Send us a text

What do you do when God speaks identity over you… but your lived experience doesn’t match it yet?

This Christmas reflection looks at Mary not as a stained-glass figure, but as a real young woman receiving a calling she didn’t feel ready for — confused, human, yet still deeply favored.

    In this episode, we explore:

    • When “favored” doesn’t feel believable
    • Why God-sized assignments expose our limits (and anchor us to Him)
    • How honest questions don’t disqualify us
    • The internal shift of “Let it be to me as You have said”
    • Why freedom begins where identity is received, not achieved
    • How to practice alignment when your feelings haven’t caught up yet

Because most of us don’t reject God’s identity…
We just don’t recognize ourselves in it yet.

If your life feels ordinary, messy, fragile, overwhelming, or “behind,” you are not disqualified from favor. Mary’s story reminds us that favor isn’t the absence of difficulty — it is God’s presence inside of it.

You’ll be guided through a reflective “Let It Be To Me” practice to help you:

    • name an area where favor feels least believable
    • notice what your experience says vs. what God says
    • choose one step of alignment today

    And remember:

    Identity → Surrender → Fruitfulness
Freedom starts where identity is received.

  • Choosing Your Ripple: Protecting Your Holy Moments in a Noisy Season
    Dec 12 2025

    Send us a text

What kind of ripple are you sending into your home, your family, your holidays… your own heart?

In this episode of the Freedom Camp Podcast, we explore the quiet power of your inner atmosphere and how it creates a ripple effect everywhere you go.

I share a real-life “Wookiee cookie” story (yes, really 🍪) where a simple baking fail became a moment of decision: Will I ripple stress and frustration through my house… or pause, reset, and choose a different atmosphere?

Together, in this episode we walk through:

~How your inner world (peace, stress, joy, or overload) quietly shapes every room you walk into

~Why you don’t have to control the whole atmosphere to influence it

~The difference between noticing others’ emotions and absorbing them

~How phones, scrolling, and holiday overstimulation can steal our holy moments

~A simple “Holy December” practice to choose your word, your ripple, and your next small experiment

You’ll hear reflective questions you can journal through, pray through, or talk through with a friend, so you can move from “just surviving” the season to thriving by intentionally shaping it with Jesus.

Simple Reflection Prompts from this Episode
Take these to your journal, your walk, or your quiet time with God:

    1. What ripple do I want to send into my home this week?
(Pick one word: peaceful, present, gentle, joyful, steady…)

    2. What’s one tiny experiment I can try to support that?
(Less/no phone at night, a 5-minute quiet pause with Jesus, a simpler expectation, etc.)

    3. Where do I need more of God’s love in this?
(For the part of you that feels behind, overstimulated, guilty, or not enough.)

NOTE: Freedom Camp: Doors Opening Soon
If this episode stirred something in you and you’d love to walk this out in community, I’d love to invite you into Freedom Camp. 💛

  • Holiness, what does it mean to you?
    Dec 12 2025

    Send us a text

In this episode, we explore the deeply personal question: What is holy to YOU?

So many of us enter December carrying pressure instead of presence. We try to create a meaningful season, but somewhere along the way, we confuse sacredness with stress. Jesus modeled something different — a life where holiness wasn’t performed but carried, where presence mattered more than presentation.

We’ll gently untangle pressure from holiness, explore what God is inviting you into this season, and help you choose your own holy anchor for December.

    In this episode:
    • Why we confuse pressure with holiness
    • How Jesus models true presence
    • What holiness really means for your daily life
    • Questions to help you discover what is sacred to YOU
    • Simple practices to cultivate peace, connection, and spiritual clarity
    • How to enter December grounded, not overwhelmed

  • Hosting Yourself Well - How to create the atmosphere you want
    Nov 14 2025

    Send us a text

Today, we’re exploring something deeply needed in this season:
+ identifying the atmosphere you carry
+ how to host yourself well
+ and how your internal world/atmosphere shapes every room you walk into.

Whether it’s Thanksgiving, Christmas gatherings, family events, daily life, or even any kind of project — like the truth is: wherever you go, there you are.
So the most important atmosphere you can cultivate… is within you!
In this episode, we talk about:
~ What it means to be the thermostat, not the thermometer
~ How Jesus modeled presence over perfection during Passover
~ Why emotional and spiritual preparation matters more than the menu
~ How to choose the thoughts and feelings you want to carry into the season
~ A simple inner-hosting practice you can use before any gathering
~ How to create peace in your body, mind, and spirit — no matter what’s happening around you

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the expectations of others, holidays, or even yourself, drained by family dynamics, or pressured to “perform,” this episode will help you recenter, create the atmosphere you want, and start practicing now.
